100% this. We all trust in Haines. This defense has consistently, without exception made quarterbacks uncomfortable. They are now playing a team that has consistently, without exception kept their quarterback comfortable. Seems like if I had to pick a key to the game this will be it. Can Bones’ blitzes get there and can disguised schemes allow Daley and Kamara to pressure? Can we hit Sayin early and give him something to think about even when he’s safe? Damn it’s gonna be fun to see!

Michigan is terrible this year. They had a very fortunate schedule.

I know we’re now “that team” when I watch the rest of the country play. For the first time ever you can see how much better and more balanced we are than the standard college football team, including many brand name programs. We have size up front that, when combined with our play calling and ball IQ, rivals any top pass rush in the country. Our DBs actually pick the ball off and team tackle. Our offense knows which play to make given the situation. We can run over anyone. We have an elite tandem at WR, like OSU, plus another 3 deep with Riley, Becker and Williams. Our QB is poised, elite, and can run. Our coach is a football maven. Our special teams are efficient. OSU really hasn’t played a team like us. They’re rightfully 1a heading into the game, while we’re 1b, but it’s truly a toss up. This isn’t a “if we win it will be close/if they win it could get ugly” type of game. I truly believe that we can win and win by more than one score. I feel more confident going into this game than @Oregon. My biggest concern is the health of our o-line and if we can be balanced in our pass blocking. But we’re also indoors, at home, and you can tell that our team is excited at this opportunity and will not play scared for one minute.

Agree. I love CFB, but I'm no great FB mind. Some thoughts: - As usual I'll be hoping for no injuries. This is a mega huge game, but we're in the playoff and the playoff is even bigger. - Get some pressure on Sayin, which would be the first he has had all year. Ponds should hopefully do okay vs. Jeremiah, he did pretty well against him last year. There is no stopping him we just need to contain him. The rest of our secondary needs to play well and avoid some of the blown coverages we've had all season. Any screw up will be a TD. - Offensively we know we've got pop in the bat. Everything is obvious -- OL needs to play like they did at Oregon, our WRs need to get separation, and Fernando has to have a great game. UM had some success on the ground so hopefully we can too. It's a really hard game, but we've got a well-rounded team that gives us a chance.

ESPN says Kiffin will take LSU gig. If that happens and I'm Ole Miss, I say: Pack up and get out. I would say Minnesota is a very soft 4-4 at that, having lost to every decent team they’ve played and needing overtime to beat Green Bay. Tough place to play, but it’d be disappointing to drop this one.

I'll happily lead off. I watched yesterday with full intent of making up my mind on whether or not OSU is better than Indiana. They are solid. They are not a better football team. Indiana will be healthy with something to prove. OSU is coming off an emotional win with nothing to prove. As Pat McAfee would say : GIMME' THE INDIANA HOOSIERS!!!!! IU 20 OSU 17

Another interesting note based on stats I can find and, imo, one of the most important “basic” stats in football: IU’s offense is #1 in 3rd down conversions, OSU is #2. IU’s defense is 4th in 3rd down stop rate, OSU’s is 2nd. Whoever wins that battle will be a step ahead.

When Sayin has time to drop back, eat a quick bowl of Fruity Pebbles, grab a step stool and look around for a minute or two it actually becomes a challenge to turn it over. Going to be interesting to see how uncomfortable we can make him, either through pressure, defensive looks or both. We have some studs, they have a pro O-line, should be interesting. I can’t remember seeing him pressured this year.

One big plus for us IMO is that we have a 2-headed attack. Shut down Mendoza and we can run it down your throat. Focus on stopping our running game and we can unleash Fernando Heismendoza.

Kiffin is one of the biggest scumbags in college football. But Ole Miss should’ve known that going into it. I hope Ole Miss tells him to take a hike and doesn’t let him coach the playoffs. He’s basically the guy telling his wife he’s leaving her for his mistress after New Year’s but demanding one last Christmas with her and the kids.

Don’t forget OSU’s run game kinda stinks and our run D rips. Making them predictable would be a massive advantage. I’m far more worried about an Arvell Reese vs. the right side of our OL matchup.

Watched the Pace Game tonight along with 1 from a couple of weeks ago against Eastside. The kid’s in the 110 range by 247? No, that’s not gonna be right. That’s pretty low. He’s a 6’6”ish absolutely elite athlete who shows court vision and quick mental processing, some facilitation chops, plays defense hard and while his shot has some funk to it, it just kept going in in both games. Has a little bit of a VJ Edgecombe thing going on. Will be a fun kid to track. If 247’s offer list is correct and right now he just has offers from IU, FSU and some local MM’s, that’s probably really good because he’s an obvious candidate to blow up and if the staff is serious about this one getting something done early would he good here.
