Reading through this thread brought all the emotions back up for me wanting Woodson fired so bad it literally almost made me root for Ls. Made me wonder was there ever Fire Woodson T-Shirts made so I Google search. Now I know this shirt (which popped up on Walmart website) isn't directed at Woody and he is no longer here. However I'm still going to buy it for $20 because I still want him FIRED not retired!5 points -

2025 Indiana is preseason ranked, has legitimate expectations, a reloaded roster, and the attention of everyone that isn't simply looking for clicks. 2024 Indiana was almost universally picked bottom three (two? one?) in the Big Ten, was coming off a trainwreck couple of seasons not to mention a century+ of suck, a new coach talking a bunch of s**t and getting laughed at for it, and a roster full of overlooked G5 guys. And then went out and busted everybody's ass with the only exceptions being the two teams that played for the title. There will never be another 2024 Indiana.4 points -

“The Indiana Hoosiers football program added two non-conference opponents to their 2026 and 2028 schedules. The Hoosiers will play the Howard University Bison on September 12th, 2026 and the Miami (OH) Redhawks on September 16th, 2028.” (Per the Hoosier Huddle) Don’t hate the player hate the game! ;-)3 points -
I mean, is he really? Don't know him personally and I'm not saying he is a bad guy, but does a good guy surround himself with yes men and fire those that dare disagree? Does a good guy mock a large portion of the fan base? Does a good guy doing a half assed job proclaim himself "King of Indiana?" Does a good guy collect million yet refuse to go out and do his job on the recruiting trail? From afar he looks more like an entitled lazy @$$ with a fragile ego, not a horrible human, but far from a good guy.3 points

Wow. I was never a Richardson fan at all. Almost choked when Holder reported that the Colts had him #1 overall on their board and would have taken him 1-1 over Stroud. But how underwhelming must he be up close in the building for them to quit on that toolkit in 2 years at 23? Never thought for a second he wouldn’t be the week 1 starter.2 points

Agree -- I've seen a lot of great players at IU, Cal, Henderson, May et al, but Isaiah was just incredible -- and he went on to be one of the best point guards to have played in the NBA. Some of those guys are close in my mind, but IT? What an amazing guard.1 point -
Woodson was a very good college player. Very smooth. That 1980 team had the pieces to contend for a national championship. Injuries to Wittman and Woodson derailed the season. It's probably true for a lot of programs, but IU has been positioned to make a run several times only to have key injuries take them out. I. Thomas, to me, is the best player I have ever seen at IU..1 point

People warmed back up to Crean in part because Woodson was such a disaster/ahole. Woodson’s not changing his stripes in his late 60s. Maybe the old timers will warm back up to him, but he earned his reputation with the under 45 crowd during his coaching tenure. I’d prefer for him (and Buckner) to never set foot within city limits again. (not calling anyone over 45 an “old timer,” just using that as a divider of people who would have no memories of Woodson as an IU player).1 point -

I personally couldn't care less if he ever gets over it or not. I'm not old enough to remember him as a player so my only impressions of him are from his time as the coach. Needless to say, they are not positive impressions. So whether an arrogant, thin-skinned, unlikeable guy who should have never been hired in the first place and got a year longer than warranted gets over getting fired for the half-assed, low effort job he did gets over it or not doesn't matter to me at all.1 point -

Finally got around to watching a couple of games of Acimovic tonight. NFL exhibition games were tough to get away from(snark), but priorities are priorities. Couple of thoughts: Yeah, he has no chance to meaningfully help this year, his body’s just not ready, but his skill level and his mental processing were better than I expected from just clips. He’s got soft hands. He can make catches in traffic. His feet are ok. His problem is that he doesn’t sink his weight naturally and right now he really, really lacks lower body strength, so when he gets banged around he has trouble maintaining balance. But that’s not bad feet. When he has some space he moves them ok. He has a drop step/counter that he executes and in 1 game he caught the ball mid-post and inside pivoted, Jack Sikma-style, and made a 12 footer. That was cute. He also faced a kid up, jab stepped, put down 1 dribble right and put up a sort of jump hook that he missed, but it was a nice efficient move. So he’s got some stuff in the post. Also made 1 read in each game where he found cutters, 1 from the weak corner and 1 down the lane, that he timed and hit perfectly for layups. Very good reads. 1 thing for sure, he is not gonna be a rim runner. Just doesn’t run great. But he’s got a pretty stroke and he’ll be able to help in a full court game as a trail shooter. Fully expect him to be a really good shooter down the road. As he gets stronger and fitter I’ll be interested to see how his defense develops. Right now he’d be pretty much unplayable. He would just get out-leveraged in the post by any decent big, badly. He’s not switchable at this point, not because of his shear movement so much as he just doesn’t bend his knees so he struggles to change direction. But he can contest some at the rim and he has good timing. So if the athleticism comes the defense will probably hold up eventually. Last thing, he he got busted dead in the mouth by an elbow and he got straight in the kid’s face and didn’t back down an inch. That was nice to see because he doesn’t carry himself that way. He really is a textbook redshirt candidate. Like that plan a lot. He’s got a chance to be a pretty interesting piece by maybe year 2.1 point -

Woody as a college basketball head coach was the Peter Principle defined: "People within an organization are promoted until they reach a level at which they are incompetent." Woody is a good guy and a pretty good NBA assistant coach; he he just wasn't equipped to be the head coach in an organization where the head coach is also general manager, team president, and the face of the university.1 point

Perhaps Fife is out of coaching partially because of how he has acted since being let go. Perhaps his brain was broken by what he saw behind closed doors and he's lashing out because he has been semi traumatized ever since. Lol The simple fact is, with very few notable exceptions (TJD, JHS, Ware), everything that Mike Woodson touched as IUBB HC turned to ****. Thankfully he is no longer here and our basketball program is better off because of that. I'm happy to look ahead and not behind, so we can start acting like the last 4 years never happened... except for the occasional joke about the fellas lounge, golfing, and ordering pizza instead of handling responsibilities. Former Indiana Player Devonte Green Avoids Serious Injury in Car Accident Devonte Green was involved in a car accident early Wednesday morning and needed to be taken to the hospital. Scary news came out early Wednesday morning that former Indiana basketball player Devonte Green was involved in a traffic collision, as reported by Messolonghi News. According to the report, the car driven by Green "collided with a taxi in Messolonghi, the capital of the Aetolia-Acarnania regional unit, and flipped over on the street." There was another woman in the car with Green, and fire department assistance was necessary to safely remove both of them. The woman in the taxi was removed safely from her vehicle as well, and all three of them were taken to a nearby hospital for immediate care. Local traffic police are investigating the accident. Green, who is in his first season with Messolonghi Baxi, is averaging 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game so far in Greece’s Basket League.1 point -
