  1. This is an impressive stat: Indiana, despite playing the vast majority of its Big Ten games with no rotation player taller than 6'7, is 3rd in the Big Ten in defensive rebounding percentage. #iubb@AssemblyCall Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  2. So i have been thinking it would be cool to start our own Crystal Ball for Kids that have an IU offer. Might take me a few weeks to get it all set up but would there be interest in taking part

  3. Man if he breaks Damon Bailey's record then I'll have a meltdown if he goes anywhere other than IU. Seriously, could you imagine the Indiana all-time leading scorer going to Vanderbilt? I would just stop following sports altogether and become a monk or something.

  4. I thought their numbers were off. Congrats to DA! http://inbasketballsource.com/2014-2015-high-school/2017-2018-high-school/5169-damezi-anderson-south-bend-scorer-leader South Bend Riley's Damezi Anderson became the career scoring leader in South Bend history Thursday. Unofficially, Damezi Anderson has scored 1,773 career points after recording 13 points against Penn Thursday. In the career scoring update, Indiana Basketball Source noted that Anderson had become the South Bend record holder. It wasn't being publicized elsewhere, but 46 Sports is now reporting that Anderson set the record Thursday. Anderson is now 150th on Indiana's career scoring list. There is still a chance for Anderson to get to 2,000 career points. He will likely achieve that milestone if Riley makes a deep run in the state tournament. Anderson signed with Indiana University in November. He has had a tremendous four-year career for South Bend Riley. The Wildcats are 17-0 this season behind Anderson's production. They are one of the favorites in 4A.

  9. Just jumping on this Damezi hype train. Everytime I watch him play, to me he is a shooting guard. Wing is also accurate, but more on the guard side than the forward side. He sneaks around the perimeter like an assassin, fights to get open. In transition or after an offensive rebound, he sneaks to an open spot behind the line for a catch-and-shoot, rather than body into the paint. I should mention I don't think this is the same as avoiding contact, really more just looking for the next score. Deadly jump shot. Has a good enough handle that he can drive when the opportunity presents itself, go coast to coast. You all heard Dakich railing on Miles Bridges for not being able to dribble more than once under control. Bridges is a small forward, and his game is totally different than what Damezi brings. Damezi is not an above-the-rim type guy, and certainly not a bruiser in the paint. But he can slash his way in for a smooth lay-in. He has all the skills to be an elite SG, plus the length to help him excel on defense. I've been saying all year that our biggest need right now is a SG. What skill would a prototypical SG have that Damezi doesn't have? Having a guy like Damezi fill the SG spot, we've added size at a position you're not typically looking for it. His skills and size help us whether we're playing small-ball or with two bigs and 3 guards.

  10. Help me understand. You think chanting something about it would have been okay, and not doing so is letting him off easy?? And you think a chant that would have been a horrible look for our fans would have been "holding him accountable?" Come on, man. We're better than that. And if we're not, shame on us. Having some sense of class and keeping our noses in our own business was absolutely the way to go. Cheer for your team. Heckle, but do it in a way that doesn't make our fans look like classless idiots. We've all seen what that looks like, and I want no part of it. What exactly are you saying?
    7 points
  11. Absolutely disagree. There is a right way to do things, and allowing students to "say what they want" is not the right way. This was not about their legal right. It would not have been a crime to get into this situation. It would have been completely classless and people should be - for the sake of human decency first of all - WAY above it.

  12. No one is being silenced. Handing out a card to 18,000 people saying IU is aware that MSU is in a world of sh*t and please represent our school with class while navigating this topic, then posting it on national TV and the internet for all to read is hardly sweeping anything under the rug. We don't need their mess making us look bad. It's an easy target right now and IU should be above it.

  20. People making light of the situation by making rape jokes/chants at a bunch of kids that had nothing to do with it (because it would naturally be directed at the people on the court, and not Izzo as much) isn’t exactly “talking about it”.

  21. Vandy is garbage with a garbage coach. They are oversigned and are a Nike school and he plays Adidas AAU. Garland would be the only reason and to me it's not the deciding factor it's made out to be. He may still go to Vandy. But I feel like one has to do tremendous mental gymnastics to justify them over his other offers. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app

  25. Me: Hey, maybe our guards can hit some 3s tonight and we'll play a great 40 minute game! IU:

  26. Here’s the scoop on horizon. Have 3 really good guards. One Izzy Allen scores 15-20 puts a game and plays like a man, has bad grades. The other 2 average 15-20 also. They shoot a lot of threes and steal the ball and make quick runs. They do not utilize an inside game at all. They rely heavily on perimeter for scoring. With Arielle Wisne’s club she scores closer to 10-15 a game.

  28. I love when people mention “slippery slope” because it’s a textbook logical fallacy. Fans chanting that it’s time for Izzo to go does not mean that rape jokes are next... Not even close. Izzo is complicit in MSU’s crimes. No reason for our administration to provide him a pass.
    4 points
  29. Lets be clear i am not advocating rape jokes etc. but i think a chant about Izzo retiring for his crimes would have been perfectly acceptable

  34. Freddie - Damezi CuJo- RP Priller- Jake Hartman- Jerome Newkirk- RoJo- There are 2 spots available at the moment and hopefully McRoberts gets one spot, but it'll be his senior year so idk if he would want it or for Archie to get someone else to help them be competitive. I also expect a transfer which hopefully isn't Clifton Moore. I say we add Romeo & McRoberts keeps playing without a scholly sadly and we take the best possible grad transfer regardless of position in the off-season. We need talented and experienced players at every position. Now let's go get Romeo and worry about the other spot later.

  35. I cannot fathom why this kid was never contacted by our previous staff.
    3 points
  36. Exactly. Chris shot 4-19 from 3 in his IU career and about 60% from the line, but it's what he DID DO when he was 7th or 8th man , on a great team, that was very valuable and endeared him to us. Maybe Al's calling card will be D and Al will become a steady/heady option and be tasked with taking a "hot shooting" guy down a peg or two.

  48. This is a business decision per Tim Langford. Romeo’s brand in the state of Indiana is at an all time high. He’s creating a story as the next great Hoosier to grace basketball locally and it will only continue to spread nationally. His name will be bandied about with other Hoosier greats leading up to the commitment. If he goes to Indiana, the story is cemented and becomes the focus of the entire season, and his brand sky rockets. If he goes to Vandy, he starts a completely new story, and his current brand is completely lost. He has the chance to make a new college Big 3 brand as part of one of the best recruiting classes ever, but it’s a complete reset. If I’m running a business, I stick with the brand that has a massive following and has all of the momentum. Romeo to Indiana. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners
