  1. It's a loss. Deal. Bad? Yup. Over and back call? Not even close. Travel on Bryant? Your behind. Turnovers? Horrible. Jump ship? NEVER. I'm in this foxhole until the end. Who's with me?

  2. I never contribute to this board but always on to read updates on IU athletics. However; my buddy is a wrestling coach here in the Chicago burbs so I sent him a text on signing day asking if he has ever heard of Stallings. He asked why and I said because he signed with Indiana to play football. His response was "the kid is an animal". Very happy with him signing with IU.

  4. Always the same reasons.  More turnovers than assists?  Check.   Poor shot selection?  Check.  Too reliant on the 3-pointer? (more than half our shots)  Check.   Yogi a poor shooting night?  Check.  Not much offensive movement?  Check.   There was a huge "OG love" thread the other day...kid's still a freshman.  Did next to nothing.  Hartman was awful.   Nobody "played well."   We just sort of showed up, looked like we took a team for granted.   Didn't play with any urgency, and got beat by a team that has less than half the on-paper talent we do.     This pattern is maddeningly predictable.   And if the pattern holds and Indiana gets a first round loss and 4th/5th place Big Ten finish, I'd love to know how Crean has done enough to keep his job.  By what measure?

  6.   Did you notice in the game that Pat Chambers called a timeout when IU pushed the tempo and had a few open looks?  They were down to one timeout at the end but Chambers could feel a little momentum swinging  IUs way.  He made the right call to settle his players down and get them back on track.  Crean stood and watched as Troy assisted to PSU for a breakaway dunk and then threw a solid pass about 15 rows up.  IU had 5 TOs in 5 minutes and ..... no timeout, no getting into his players, no settling the troops to get them refocused.  While Crean can't be blamed for those few plays he can be blamed for not managing the game.   Also, teams are often a reflection of their coach.  Look back at all the maniacal incidents Crean has been involved in.  Was he disciplined in going after the Michigan assistant, all the blow by handshakes, issues with Time Miles, etc.?  Look at all the off court issues that were swept under the rug or offenders met with a light slap on the wrist?  Does any of that scream discipline or being under control?  Now, look on the court and see the issues with TOs; however, he dismisses it as playing fast...

  13. Flat performance and disappointing loss. Colin reminds me more and more of Austin E. Rojo has fallen off greatly. It's time to accept that TW is not very good. The VO like progression that we were all hoping for will never happen. I understand TB frustration but acting like a spoiled brat is not a good look. I like CTC but I have finally accepted that he is not capable of returning IU to elite status. I feel like the current regimes goal is to make the tourney, this is Indiana! I'm surprised so many people think we will beat Iowa, I think it's very possible we get embarrassed. My support of iubb will never wain, but I'm really bummed right now. Go Hoosiers!

  22. Once again the Lady Hoosiers defend home court with a 59 - 47 win over Nebraska.  Shooting percentage never did pick-up, but they held the Huskers scoreless for extended periods of time in the 2nd half.  They controlled the offensive board and took advantage of the Husker turnovers.   Buss with 17 pts; 11 reb.; 6 assists; 7 steals. Cahill with 16 pts. and 13 reb. Gassion 15 pts.

  23. IU 30 - Huskers 24 at the half.  Shooting woes for the Ladies persist as they're only hitting 28%; Nebraska 37%.   But, our Ladies have put up 9 more shots and Nebraska has contributed 14 TO's which IU has converted into 15 pts.  Teams a combined 1 for 13 on 3's.  IU with 8 TO's but doing a good job on the boards especially on the offensive end with an 11 to 5 advantage.    Gassion with 11; Buss with 8; Cahill with 6 pts.  Cahill with 8 reb.  Buss also has 3 assists and 4 steals.

  24. This is my first post since returning from the game (got in about 1:30 am this morning and went to bed).  The team looked completely out of sync all night long.  The first or second offense possession of the game was a two on one (Yogi and TW), and Yogi tries to dump to Troy, but he had hesitated a split too long and TW was already going up for the put-back.  The ball bounced off of Troy's knees and out of bounds.  Turnover.  There were a couple of passes to phantom IU players resulting in over and back violations.  Troy continually missed at the rim (again).    Yogi.  Geez, I love this guy.  Arguably the best PG IU's ever had, but he's not clutch.  I feel like there's still one more level to Yogi that we're not seeing.  Coaching?  Possibly (save it for a different thread).  Maybe I'm seeing something that isn't there?  Possible also.    Oh and I don't recall who posted it in the game thread, but TB totally looks like an 80 yr old arthritic man when running down the court.  I was rolling when I read that last night.  Does he seem to complain about calls a lot?  There was one play where he could have grabbed the ball but was too busy complaining (luckily TW was there to grab it).  I'm not saying that his complaints are always unjustified, but quit freaking moaning and play basketball.   BJC is a really nice venue to watch a game.  I'd highly recommend it if given the chance.  Tickets are inexpensive, it's easy to get in and out of, parking is cheap, and the fans are friendly and engaging.  Aside from the outcome, a great experience overall.

  25. As bad as the loss to Penn State was Saturday night, the reality is that if IU beats Iowa on Thursday it will still be no worse than tied for first in the conference after 12 games. Indiana’s luck in tight games against inferior opponents finally ran out Saturday night at Penn State.   And the game I was most worried about heading into the big matchup against Iowa next week materialized.   Penn State 68, Indiana 63.   This is a bad loss. It won’t get better as time goes on. When seeding is done for Selection Sunday this one will come up.   But it’s still just one loss. I saw that one of my colleagues on Twitter wrote that Indiana had lost its chance at winning the Big Ten title.   That’s a little premature isn’t it. Beat Iowa on Thursday and you’re at the very least back into a tie for first place. When you consider you have two games left with Iowa and one with Maryland, it’s difficult to say your shot at winning a Big Ten title is over. You have all of your goals and dreams ahead of you. You just have to win big games.   And mark it down right here: Indiana will beat Iowa on Thursday.   I don’t care about Penn State. Indiana plays better against better opponents and the Hoosiers are unbeaten at Assembly Hall. It will be a bright lights game and my guess is that Indiana will come out and take it to the Hawkeyes.   I’m not nearly as confident with Sunday’s game at Michigan State. But if Indiana can come out of next week with a split I think you have to be happy with that considering the opponents.   Saturday night was a bad game for the Hoosiers. And as bad as the Hoosiers played Penn State was letting IU hang around in much the same fashion as the Hoosiers were treating their hosts. Eventually you let Penn State hang around too long and the Nittany Lions were able to score the upset.   I’m not ready to write off the Big Ten title based on one dismal performance but the reality is that Indiana needs to bounce back in a big way against Iowa.   Do that, knock off a top 10 ranked team, and you’ll at the very least be back into a share of first place in the Big Ten.   On the other hand if this turns out to be the beginning of a three-game skid, then there will be a lot of interesting discussion on this board a week from Sunday night.   We’ll see. 28.   Yeah, that jumping up and down like it was Max's (?) fault was terrible.  He had another 90 mph fastball pass to a teammate a few feet away from him but got bailed out by another playing catching the deflection.  He only had 2 TOs but had about 5 layups that were terrible and another few passes that were deflected to other IU players.

I just don't understand how u can be in the bonus with 12 min left in the game and shoot 4 3s in a row. Does the coach or your senior point guard not say hey let's put pressure on them to play perfect defense or we are going to the line for fts. Guess I miss the old Iu teams that got in the bonus and just made bee line to foul line the rest of half or game

  43. Right from the very get go, when Johnson jacked up a three immediately after the tip, I could see we were likely in trouble.  It seems like not one player on this team values possessions - either with stupid turnovers or chucking up 3 pointers like it's a shoot around.  This is the kind of game where I really regret wasting 2 hours of my weekend watching it.   BTW - What the heck was with the BTN graphics?  It seemed like they couldn't manage to update the score until the other team was 15 seconds into their possession.

  44. No time outs called when we need them to refocus. Penn state just giving us 3s knowing we were off tonight and we took the bait every time. Bonus with like 13 Mins left and we don't do 1 post feed or drive to take advantage. And the zone, why.. the zone. We have the best defense in the big ten with straight man.. Tom Crean always over thinking the game. We are going no where with this guy running the ship. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

  45. We had 10 more made fts and 7 more rebounds and lose by 5. We should've shot 50 fts with being in the bonus with 12 min left and TB gets 4 shot attempts part of it do to foul trouble which was caused but putting him back in game the first half
