There have been zero flips from Indiana to MSU in the Crystal Ball over the course of De'Ron's recruitment. Not even hedge flips during his MSU official visit. Given the flippant nature of the analyst making picks on there, this is pretty telling IMO. The only two picks for MSU came last week from two MSU analysts. Hope we land this kid, he would be a great piece to have next to Bryant competing with Morgan and OG next year.

Two Miss State guys who almost exclusively pick football picks if I remember correctly.

Though, I guess that's probably true of everyone at Miss State.

I'm a little nervous about this decision but mostly confident. The nervousness is due to how important this kid is to our frontcourt next year. We go from being a good front court without, to an elite frontcourt with the addition of Davis. Get Davis and go full steam into the Rawle Alkins sweepstakes. Imagine that defense.

FWIW...Two respected posters (milehi and BOSSFAN) on the 247 board are reporting that winds are blowing toward Bloomington with Davis. milehi is a Denver guy, so that's nice.

I don't know.

I have a lot of trouble believing anyone could respect posters on the 247 board. If they could, they'd be here.

Milehi is a very respected poster.

Then why can't he see why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch? No wait. I mean, why can't he see why adults love the conversation of Btown Banners?

It's the football background right? I keep saying basketball season has started and we need to lose it.

And my fault for diverging some with my joke. Keep it under control folks or I'll split us out into our own thread and it will only have like 5 posts in it and no one will read it and it will all be silly.

Dont know about elite but it would be if we added on very tall guy from Afrika and his little brother joined as well! :)

Thomas Bryant at the 5 and a 6' 10" 220 (will be bigger after our weight program) will absolutely make us elite in that category. You don't have to land once in a lifetime talent (Thon) to be considered elite. I don't see many teams dominating us down low with TB and DD. I asked Jerry Meyer what he thought of a potential frontcourt duo of TB and DD and he said, essentially, that it would be a very punishing duo.

Note: Thon and Matur aren't in the same grade. They won't play together collegiately.

They could play together if we landed Thon and he knew Matur was coming and decided not to go to the NBA after one year because he wanted to play with his brother in college.

I mean, it's unlikely and involves foregoing millions of dollars for an extra year and risking injury, but possible.

I think they likely would play because I think Thon is very overrated and not nearly ready to leave after 1 year.  But all it takes is somebody making promises into his ear to trick him

This assumes that Thon makes his own decisions.  From what I have seen Ed Smith makes all decisions and Thon is just along for the ride.  Given that Ed is likely looking for a liquidity event, I don't see Thon staying anywhere if he can get highly drafted, despite what Thon may want or desire.
