I got the notification on my phone, and wondered if it was real or not.  I guess it is.  I suppose we can get him in 3 years or so when CDD moves on and Dusty is fired by the Mavs. LOL

Also, this all happens after he was his team set for the fall who is ranked pretty high.

If Dusty had come to IU and left after a couple years to go to the NBA I am not sure this board could have survived.  I think it would have exploded.

so many questions. What does this do to the Michigan team? Who will be their coach? What players become available? What does this say about Dusty? Can he succeed in the NBA?

Ann Arbor seemingly didn’t care they won a title. My family was on that campus the day after the title game and said you couldn’t tell a championship had been won.

Combine that with the lack of enthusiasm I saw by Michigan fans at the national title game and it’s not hard to see why Dusty left.

Michigan will need to decide if they are serious and care about basketball or program will continue to see extreme swings.

Also for IU fans who wanted Dusty, you have to wonder if being treated like a king in Bloomington rather than an afterthought in Ann Arbor would have kept him around longer or lure of NBA would have been to strong after a couple of years?

An interesting point; I know that incoming freshmen can reopen their recruitment, but can an NIL signed portal player do the same thing?

Edit: Apparently yes - they can. So JP Estrella had IU in his finalists short list.

Also appears to be extremely likely that crap-@$$ former Okla St head coach Mike Boynton (who had a 51-75 Big 12 conf record), a current Dusty assistant, will run the team this coming season.

I truly feel like the morning after we won a big ranked game. Like somehow we are vindicated and all of our angst for not getting Dusty is okay and resolved now because he would’ve just broken our hearts anyway. Let’s roll Devries!

Yes, I believe so.  15 days.  The NIL folks work out the rest.
