Josh Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Holy hell, this is baaaaaad basketball. Who do we get to hire the next coach? Dolson chose this guy. Quinn picked Woodson. Clearly neither of them can be trusted. Our basketball program is pretty much a circus, maybe we let the fans pick the next coach with an online poll? cybergates and raorIU 1 1 Quote

Some say he needs to go ASAP, but...come on thats not realistic. On the plus side, basketball tickets are gonna be cheap as hell for a couple years. Might get in free with a canned food donation next year. Hoosier DaDa, FWHoosier84, WayneFleekHoosier and 1 other 1 3 Quote
Asha’man Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Josh be sure to have Quinn number so you can spam him calls so boosters can’t get in touch with him for his feedback. Lol Josh 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 17 Posted January 17 What I hope is we suck bad enough, the money is available to DeVries to try not to be an embarrassment to the University and Alumni. Take some donor money and build an intimidating roster like Woodson was allowed to do his final year. Because let’s face it, miss the tourney 2 years in a row l, it’s already over. Yea, CDD’s buyout is 80% of his contract, which is $18-19M right now. It’s gonna be three years at least… Well, whenever the next hiring process happens, I would put Cig on the search committee and he interviews the candidates. He can weed out a bad coach in any sport and recognize the ones that have “it.” FWHoosier84, BtownStrength, Ryno6284 and 3 others 6 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Coach Cig needs to pull Dolson in and remind him the importance of having a standard. Buyout is not outrageous. OliviaPope40 and skhoosier2 2 Quote

JSHoosier Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Wow, Woodson never should've been hired and it took longer than this for the fire thread to get started. Impressive, impressively awful but impressive. I had the same feeling about Devries that I had about Miller. I was right the first time, we'll see if I'm right again. Should've been a red flag when the only player from his last team that wanted to follow him was his son. Of course, this is IU and if this administration was capable of good basketball decisions the last 25+ years wouldn't have happened. They've been so utterly incompetent you'd be forgiven for thinking they were intentionally ruining the program. skhoosier2 and Kentuckysucks 2 Quote

Cause Woody and Buckner were IU legends around their age whom they likely consider friends. And once burned they seem to have pulled the purse strings. I haven’t done it in the sense of NIL, but I’ve been part of a group and in the room asking billionaires for a paltry few million. That’s nothing to them. Literally nothing. The decision can be made on a whim (and often are in mind-blowing ways to us mere mortals) but they usually don’t like waste and certainly don’t like public embarrassment. You can’t go in and say “give us a couple mil so we’re not embarrassed. We won’t be good but our idiot brigade will get to 17 wins instead of 12.” It’s easier to just not give. Watch how the next couple seasons play out and see for yourself. (Btw, Cig is the opposite of this. Everyone loves to bandwagon a winner. Ask yourself why Cuban is giving tons to a football program that doesn’t even need it but little to a basketball program that obviously does.) FWHoosier84 1 Quote

Money, and probably overseas money is the only hope of an immediate turnaround. But who is our scout to be trusted? Because we don’t have one. We brought over 2 unplayable ones already. Quote
Banksyrules Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I wonder which one of snaps and adamantly defends Coach after he coaches three consecutive losing season. Quote
Banksyrules Posted January 17 Posted January 17 By the way this my first talking basketball this season because I’m all in on football. That being said ………… *@$# Mike Woodson and Buckner. bird4par 1 Quote
