BtownStrength Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Feel horrible for Daley. I'm sure he is devastated Edge is very weak for.us with Wyatt and Daley out. Interior is deeper with Wheeler and Ratcliff being competent 2s at DT. Kamara could get shifted back to the role he played last year with Ndukwe filling his current slot. Landino is also quick and agile enough to let him do some rushing off the end, which would probably mean increased snaps for Wheeler. Pagoda, skhoosier2, Home Jersey and 1 other 4 Quote
realTomCrean Posted December 9 Posted December 9 https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/indiana/2025.html#all_defense_standard Just for conversation, obviously the Def staff will come up with a great fix. Daley/Wyatt are responsible for 25+ TFL, 8 sacks, and 60+ tackles. To replace them I would assume two different situations that the coaches will use to mitigate the loss: 1. Replace Daley straight up with Ndukwe, Turvy, and Depaepe's. This allows Kamara to retain position. Most likely scenario IMO 2. Kamara will shift into Daley's place, which I believe was his position last year. This will allow Utzinger/Turner to fill Kamara's role which seems to be in coverage more. Pure conjecture from a novice fan. Regardless the DE position is extremely thin. We cannot afford for Kamara to get hurt at all. He is undoubtedly the most important player on our defense as far as health goes now. Pagoda and skhoosier2 1 1 Quote
Home Jersey Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I'm absolutely gutted for Daley. Maybe he misses the Rose Bowl but could return later? Doubtful I'm sure. Ugh. We've been so fortunate with the injury bug for the most part. Really hurts to miss him and Wyatt on the edge. Ugh. skhoosier2 and Pagoda 2 Quote

Popular Post Hoosier987 Posted December 9 Popular Post Posted December 9 If Daley can't go, schematically, Haines and Cig will have his replacement in the best position. We must also remember, we have over a 1/2 dozen All Big Ten players on defense besides Daley. The amazing and factual situation is, the majority of our defense is elected to an All Big Ten Team, meaning there's a high chance that if an injury occurs to anyone on our defense, it's going to be to a star player. This is a product to how awesome our defense is. The reality of the situation is, our defense still boasts the likes of Fisher, Ponds, Kamara, Boykin, Moore, Bones Jones, Hardy, Wheeler, Ratcliff, Ferrell, Sharpe, Landino, Big Tyrique Tucker, etc...I'm still taking our defense over anybody. Pagoda Posted December 9 Posted December 9 We need something positive today, so here are some statistics. Per Old Fart's post, 18.3M tuned in for the B1G Championship Game. That's the most ever for this game. And per FOX it also exceeded whatever the Bama-UGA rating was for the SECCG. Updating my estimated numbers for total viewership for the whole season (I just add up all the ratings): 2023: ~11M (pre-Cig) 2024: ~33M 2025: ~46M... so far... The increase in exposure for IUFB and IU in general continues to be amazing. WayneFleekHoosier, str8baller, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Wow. Listening to Dan Patrick, who had Finebum as a guest. Believe it or not, he actually gave us a little love. Said it took a while, but he's finally willing to admit that we're good. I still think he's a squirrely jacka$$ -- but he's learning! southsidehoosier and go iu bb 2 Quote
