Nothing, I think so far re WVA commits (and there are probably ties to asst coaches), but any other HS recruiting is obviously late for 2025-26, may see something develop over the summer when some guys decide to decommit or a late bloomer shows up. It should mean something but, on the other hand, being one of the most valuable franchises hasn’t helped the Dallas Cowboys. Hard to overcome ineptitude. Quote

Not sure if it's biased, but valuation methods are certainty debatable and there can be errors and/or numbers used that aren't apples to apples. Just looking at this for 30 seconds, OSU's (ranked #4) numbers look off vs. the latest OSU AD financials. And Duke's revenue is oddly high despite playing in little Cameron Indoor, meaning Duke's numbers may be calculated differently (just guessing -- more media rights allocated or something like that). Who knows. It's hard to know which program is the most valuable... do you include mega donors, owning an arena, "brand" value, etc.? Bottom line is IU is somehow up there in the top few bball programs despite the last 25 years. Obviously this doesn't guarantee us a darn thing, but if we ever get it going we've got a high ceiling... lillurk and J34 2 Quote

How many times does he think it’s ok to literally keep interrupting DG when he’s talking. They literally have on DG as a guest. Your job in media when having a guest is to ask the question and let them give long winded answers then ask the follow up questions. Goodman will never be good at what he does because he wants to hear himself speak more than his guests on his show. He would actually probably be good at his job if he just had his own show with no one ever on and no co-hosts IUHoosierJoe, Old Friend, sirhoosierlot and 3 others 6 Quote
CSP Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Jeff Goodman- a career nerd, never a high-level player/coach, he writes stories/tells tales Doug Gottlieb- a D1 basketball player, a D1 coach.... led the B12 in assists 3 different years.... One I will listen to when they talk basketball, one I won't. J34 1 Quote

One I will listen to when they talk basketball, one I won't. I have listened to Gottlieb on the radio for several years, and there are a couple of times that I think he is wrong, but more often than not, I pretty much agree with him. The kids don't care about who is and who is not royalty in CBB because now, they just want that check more often than not. How much will you pay me, and how often will I be on TV to get to the league are the major questions. IU has checked all the boxes in money, tradition, and facilities, but the overall coaching has been the main obstacle for a while which also includes continuity and chemistry. The fan base hasn't been the problem. The admin sticking their fingers where it doesn't belong and the decisions along with selections at that positions have been the problem. Also, I don't mind Goodman, but he does love to hear himself talk. Let the dude talk, geez. CSP 1 Quote

Nobody can argue that Last NCAA Title: 1987 Last Final 4: 2002 Last Big 10 Championship/Sweet 16: 2016 That being said, if IU isn't still a historical blueblood, then why does Goodman and the Field of 68 (I'm a huge fan of them too) crew keep talking about them? They didn't do an "emergency pod" when Minnesota hired a coach. But they did for Indiana. Why does FOX put them in primetime? Why does CBS still want a lot of their games? There's a reason for that. To me these programs are the historical bluebloods: UNC, Kentucky, Duke, Kansas are probably tier 1. UCLA, IU, UConn, Louisville are tier 2. You can probably add Michigan State and Villanova.
