You may know this already, but I bring it up every time he releases a stupid projection re: IU. Palm is a Purdue fan and/or grad (not sure on the grad part) and has never projected IU fairly. You could tell me he projects us in the Detroit Bowl against the MAC champ and I’d believe it.

I think you're right about the Purdue part. From his Linkedin profile. He was a band nerd there and graduated in computer science:

Notre Dame is in on reputation only.

Their one quality win, over Texas A & M, is losing its luster after the Aggies lost their 2nd game yesterday. They also finish the season v Texas, so most likely will be a 3 loss team.

The  Irish’ second best win, Navy, was just beaten handily by 3-6 Rice. ND will likely end the season v USC who might very well have a losing record.

I just don’t see anything that jumps out to justify ND as a playoff team. Add their home loss to NIU, who has gone 2-4 since beating the Irish, and they just aren’t that impressive.

Fully expecting to be annoyed by where they slot us tomorrow night. It's too early to be mad, but I have a feeling it'll get on my nerves at least. Telling myself that as long as we take care of business Saturday, we'll get a big bump heading into the OSU game.

I can’t be annoyed because we, IU…the Indiana Hoosiers, are going to be IN the conversation.  And I know that annoys so many OSU and Michigan fans as well as other programs who have huge football egos.  I’m just going to smile and gloat.  :)))

The Irish coming to The Rock? That could be kinda fun ...

College football playoff predictions: Big Ten, SEC occupy eight of 12 spots

The one I really want for some reason is LSU. Kelly is such an unapologetic D-bag and the idea that he took that job, ginned up a little southern accent, and then gets knocked out of a playoff by lowly Indiana just sounds too satisfying.

Bare with me here. And to preface, I couldn’t be more excited about the IU football team and this season. And I’m in no way doubting them or their ability to compete at the highest level which is an incredible statement.

BUT… was thinking about this new landscape with the expanded playoff. Do we think that there’s a possibility that finishing in the 9-12 range might be getting a little bit of a shaft from the players perspectives? I mean, great you made the playoff, huge accomplishment. But say you then “get to” travel to play a road game at Texas and lose. Is that lessor than the experience of playing in a premier bowl game and the week-long buildup and neutral warm weather site? Would winning the gator Bowl or Citrus Bowl be a bigger event for the program? Obviously the dream scenario is winning the first playoff game and getting to a Rose Bowl or Orange Bowl. But it feels to me like this might be a downside to the new system is rewarding our best season ever with an extra away game. Heck even if we get to host, it’s not a bowl game, it’s an extra home game in Bloomington in January. Anybody else feel this way at all?
