We can’t even lockdown assistants enough to publicly announce it. We’ve got 4 or 5 of 13 without a full staff. Won’t be shocked if they’ll help account for 3 or 4.

Or it’s just that announcing assistants isn’t a priority for DeVries or the program. We want to know who they are but generally there isn’t much publicity given to assistant hires, and here there’s no question assistants have been out recruiting so do we actually care when they’re formally announced? I don’t

I may be alone here but I can't stand this portal crap. I hope DROCK prioritizes Indiana high school kids and builds the program back up via that avenue. Even if it takes a couple yrs. Just my take.

Problem with that is the HS kids will eventually transfer too

Or it’s just that announcing assistants isn’t a priority for DeVries or the program. I guess that depends. So long as we’ve got them in place. I don’t need to know. But not having them in place cuts down on the transfer portal options in the long run.

Inside sources on multiple fronts have said Murphy, Moikuba but Murphy’s social media profile surely doesn’t read that way. as long as we get the best team we could have in the transfer portal, Idgafudge.

I get that but usually not till Junior or Senior year. Good mix of old school, watching kids progress and reloading. Again, im stuck in the past. I know. But I'd much rather build a program around kids 3 yrs at a time than every yr a complete reload. Showing my age and delusion probably.

I hope for both. The 2027 class is loaded and we have a year to get there. I do see 2 more high school kids getting added to this roster for a couple of reasons. Cost containment one. I wouldn't be surprised  after Wilkerson we're not over 4m. Another is to start building continuity.  I think we can get that with half a dozen quality portal pieces with multiple years of eligibility.

Better get used to it. Unless you get a Cooper Flagg, Knueppel, Maluach level of freshman, you aren’t winning with freshman. If they don’t play or see a path they won’t stay. Getting some freshmen will happen but just be prepared for relatively big overhauls in the transfer portal.

Thing is it's just April 7 and we're in a dead period. Portal signings will pick up mid-April, and we've already seen assistants out recruiting, and we now have some guys in the door, while having had some of the bigger names in. I do want to know who all of the assistants are, right there with you on that, but I don't see any issues right now.

This is college sports for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure any college coach is going to have a choice in participating so they better get good at it. Change was needed but this is chaos.

I was wondering how all of a sudden Trish is providing intel. Always appreciated his posting for years. But he never had the inside scoop before.
