He was hired on March 18. As of today, that's been two weeks and three days. Why don't we wait until he's been here a few weeks to judge his first few weeks?

Are you impressed by what you’ve seen from DD since he was hired? If so, what has impressed you?

And if IU has the year that WVU just had then no one will be happy this time next year.

WVU would have had a better season if two of their top players didn't miss most of the season. Instead of 19-13 they probably have won 22 or 23 games

You are right when you don’t have a long term recruiting plan for the program you are running it’s isn’t hard.  Didn’t woody just over pay for a bunch of mercenaries that were only here for money and didn’t really produce  results they posters on here wanted?   DeVries seems to me like he actually has a long term plan and isn’t just going to throw out money because he has it.    All those guys committed to IU in Mid April.  Still got loads of time

Again, I’m not worried about time or CDD. I’m just pushing back on the implication that IU should be looking regionally if guys don’t go far from home.

Woody was, as you point out, a disinterested recruiter. So the fact he was able to get guys to IU from all over the country makes me think CDD can do the same.  The fact that those kids didn’t do well here is more about Woodys coaching, imo. The year before he pulled in Ware off the west coast did well enough to be a first round draft pick.

No one should be impressed/unimpressed until actual games start. I mean, IU has been what, the offseason national champs the last 9-10 years running? God forbid we don't win it this year.

Maybe we need to realize that kids today doesn't look at IU like we do. These kids have only seen IU as a mediocre program that doesn't make the tournament very often. They also see the fans still having the same expectations like it was 1987 instead of actually where the program is.

I feel like when you were younger and they had someone pick people and you keep wonder when its going to be your turn to be picked ,just saying saw that Iowa Sandfort is going to Nebraska .   I feel like when is someone else gonna choose us ?I am kind of surprised that the recruits that was going to go to WV haven't had a visit or anything yet ,nor any of the other guys in the portal from the B10

I Never said that lu should just look regionally all I said was historically geography wins out in these types of recruitments that doesn’t involve the big names.    Slater the crystal ball king back in the day always said he starts every recruitment out with which teams are close to the recruit and majority of the time if it doesn’t involve the big names he always goes with the home teams

Coach isn’t wasting money, going for team players. Not just going for the highest bid for the first bull through the pen. I for one appreciate that.

When and how does a coach determine which type a given player is?  Is it during the visit, or before extending an offer.  IDK
