Preston > tourney

Frazier > wants WVU job, seems like it’s going to hodge though

Adams > TBD

Barnett > in running for oral Robert’s job

i think that covers it from what I’ve gathered.

also saw rod Clark’s name floated and he’s also in the tourney

Osterman also came out with an article today insinuating that there will be no coaching announcements until all spots are filled. In other words, they will announce at the same time. That's not to say that the coaches won't be working behind the scenes even though they haven't been announced yet.

I haven’t been able to keep up with the recruiting, so not sure who this is in reference to but wanted to put it here.

Enright. Also receiving interest from Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Colorado per the same article.

That would mean they resigned from their current jobs and their school isn’t releasing that or making public which is odd. You can’t be employed by WVU for example and recruit for Indiana.

what is the advantage of waiting here?

There have only been two people so far, and they came from WV with him. Everyone will begin working as soon as their team is finished playing, but IU is not going to make an official announcement till the whole staff has been hired.

I sure love this…

I also like that approach but hearing it doesn’t move the needle for me (maybe I am becoming a curmudgeon).

He answered the question as he should, so it’s not a knock on DD, but to me it’s “coach speak” in that 98% of coaches would give the same answer.

Edit: and of the 2% of coaches that would have given a different answer one of those nameless coaches would have said “I just have to get guys to get us over the hump”.

Right? I literally laughed out loud when I read the comparison to Yogi.

There are a lot of players who are Yogi's size, but there are very few players who have the same combination of skill and athleticism that he had. Also, Yogi was very strong for his size as well.

Muggsy Bogues is 6 inches shorter than me.I could have won that dunk contest  The lack of reason in this discussion is pretty damm dumb.

Awful lot of interest for a “backup/role” player hmmmmmm

surely there is a transfer 6’6 215  portal guard from northwestern central tech A&M state who averaged 52ppg , 23.3 ast  to .000000001 TOs that we should be getting after right ?

Bad defender. Pass

Nick Norton a West Virginia assistant, Garrett Sturtz who was director of player development at West Virginia and Ryan Horn strength and conditioning is the only ones I’ve heard that have been named. I believe the first two are already here.

Not sure if I've posted this here before, but a good buddy of mine who lives in Bloomington had lunch at Buffalouie's a couple months back, in January I believe, and Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle, and Bryson Tucker there. He intentionally sat at a table within earshot of them (as any sane, rational Hoosier fan would do) and overheard them discussing all the backlash against Woody (this was after the Illinois game) and basically talking sh!t about him and the staff. And Carlyle said, verbatim, "I'm just here for the bag" and Rice and Tucker both nodded their heads and laughed.

Get them out. All of them. Goode is the only (potential) returnee who showed any heart this season. He's the only one I'd want back too.

Unfortunately for Carlyle he played himself out of a bag for next year

It's waiting on the announcement and all that pomp and circumstance.  Doesn't mean the dude can't come in and start working.  Only thing an announcement does is allow us to talk about it.

That's the stupidest thing to me about this mentality. It's so ridiculously short-sighted. You only get ~4 years of eligibility and you wasted one doing nothing. Now one of your four years will earn you very little. Congratulations, you played yourself.
