Buckner has great influence, but he’s not solely pulling the levers here, at least not in the way he did when he forced Glass’s hand on Crean; 2. Dolson is in charge, but he understands that situations like this require internal vetting and consensus before anything happens. This is a group sport; 3. There are some very important stakeholders who would need to do an “about face” on Pearl for him to be hired; 4. If he remains, Woody will shake up his staff; 5. The player defection possibility is very real, as is the Woodying; 6. Don’t believe the rumor that this is Dolson positioning himself publicly in an internal battle with QB. To be kind, that’s misinformed. To be accurate, it’s nonsense to those who know those two. Thats all for now. Welcome aboard Kathy, and that is quite the Eric Gordon vs Chattanooga debut. Love it. I have a hard time believing Rabjohns would flip on a sitting head coach as quickly as he has without being told to do so. I'm not the biggest Rabjohns fan but he's definitely very well plugged and has always been one of the last people to defect from a lame duck regime. Even if he wasn't told to, he must know enough that it's likely he isn't back. And he's willing to take the calculated risk of making that happen by releasing that information. Guys like him need access. If Woodson was definitely coming back he would be shooting himself in the foot right now. cybergates 1
rcbowla Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Regarding # 6, there was nothing organic about what came out yesterday. Someone decided to release the hounds and it most certainly was Dolson. All she said was that it wasn't a Dolson move against Buckner. I would state it differently: I do not believe he has "been told to" flip on Woody. I believe Rabby thinks it will not be professionally detrimental to flip on Woody. 94Bulldog, Class of '66 Old Fart, Chris007 and 3 others 6

Popular Post JF87 Posted March 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2024 I know that most of you have jumped on the Bruce Pearl train. That's understandable, Bruce is high energy with a great personality. He also plays a winning brand of basketball. Pearl would be a much better coach for IU than Mike Woodson. My concern is that the Pearl camp is just using IU for leverage. There's just too much noise around Pearl to IU. I think Dolson is professional enough that the leaks and rumors aren't coming from the IU side. That would mean they are coming from Pearl's camp. If so, Pearl really could be campaigning for his IU dream job. However, I think it's more likely that he's simply pressuring Auburn for facilities upgrades or to have his son named his designated successor. Just some concerns from a pessimist. thebigweave, Tasmanian Devil, Home Jersey and 8 others 10 1
