if Kenny Payne finished the year at Louisville and they recovered, I think we'll be ok lol i get everybody is over this but there are only 10 (maybe 11) games left in the season.  Woodson isn't going to be the coach next year whether he finishes the year or doesn't finish the year.

But if you already know he's not the guy, why risk the team doing just enough to give the bootlickers any kind of daylight to give it any more time?

It just seems that QB and crew have put the expectations on Woodson so much lower than they would on others.  Why play the game of meeting low expectations just because he's a friend?

Well imo if he isn't gone today and it likely looks like he isn't then they are committed to purdue and wisconsin imo. I guess I don't see the point in waiting till the season is lost. I don't get why anyone needs to see more embarrassing performances. The fans have clearly turned and the team and coaches look like they are clueless. I don't get it but I think it says alot about why we are in this situation. I guess I don't see why further damage needs done

I think Golfman’s post makes a lot of sense.  I’m now good with whatever outcome we have as long as it humiliates Woodson, Buckner and others and gives Dolson clout and he can say I told you so.  I didn’t want to sacrifice this season but Dolson needs to take back the AD office and be able to have the clout to tell Buckner, SF, and others to go fly a kite.

Whoever brought up the Florida case should be hereby suspended for derailment.....I bet Cathy sent them in here with that nonsense!

Back to "Fire Mike Woodson"

No I brought it up to create chatter about maybe a candidate. I brought it up because people talk about wanting Beard and wonder what their stance would be on Golden. Yes fire Woodson but people talk about potential coaches all the time on this chat….

Cmonn lol

"The University of Florida has closed its investigation into Gators men's basketball coach Todd Golden after finding "no evidence" that he violated Title IX, the school said Monday. "

But some on here know more?

Oh I agree, I just didn't understand why some were acting like they knew the details.

What is your stance on Chris Beard then?

Good reasons!

  1. IU is not a better job than UF.
  2. I'm a double Hoosier and my youngest is at UF. The campuses, location, town , and vibe between Gainesville and Btown are remarkably similar.
  3. The B1G is not a better conference that the SEC.

Is IU a better job than Ole Miss?? I joke because we know the answer but I have been watching a lot of cbb reporters say they wonder if some coaches in the SEC might try to jump for jobs in the ACC or Big 10 if offered in the off-season because the talent level in the SeC is very very very good top to bottom. So a coach at LIKE OLe Miss, Mississippi state and Oklahoma could look to jump.

Just a thought,…..could it be that Dolson is carefully doing back channeling and is trying to get legit interest from his top candidate/candidates before letting the ball drop on Woodson?

I've heard this a couple of times today. So something like that if Stevens said no today, and Michigan found out they could offer Dusty a huge contract right now before the season is over. So then you have already struck out on your two big choices.

So if we get rid of Woody before the end of the season then things look good for Stevens but if we wait till the end then it's probably already a college coach? Is this what your saying?

Yea, though interestingly Ole Miss has pretty darn good NIL.

Because it's a better job and in a better conference? Or why not?

He just left San Fran for Gainsville....

In what way is it a better job?

More recently National championship successful program

Currently more successful program

Great recruiting base

Better weather

No state taxes

2 - 3 hrs to three major cities

And both campuses are a-bustin-at-da-seams with young coeds dying to meet or receive naughty-bits pictures from a handsome basketball coach!

Do we think NBA players respect coaches?  Ballo came with 1 year eligability and a seven figure pay out.  These coaches have no control over that.  At the very least, Ballo will play overseas for big money.  What does he care.

p.s. this isn't a slam on you JS just a rant about the NIL and portal world that we live inKids do not care when it's money.

I would say that may depend on the environment. I doubt there's any portal players saying that to Self or Hurley or Pearl. Does anyone here think a portal player could say that to Cignetti without consequences?

Woodson let's the inmates run the asylum so it's not surprising if that happens to him.

I'm calling it now.

Following getting blown out at Purdue and Wisconsin, and heading into a home showdown with Michigan, his "retirement" is announced on either Thursday February 6, or Friday February 7.

This way the news gets buried amidst the lead story of the upcoming Super Bowl, plus he is spared being humiliated by cascades of boos at Assembly Hall and the "We want Dusty" chants.
