Full disclosure, I’d love to have Brad Stevens on board. But more importantly, I stopped believing in ghost stories when I was 9 or 10 years. Any serious discussion involving IU’s next coach doesn’t include Brad Steven’s.

Would people actually be looking for stuff like this if he hadn't forced Woodson on IU then forced a 4th year when it was obvious it wasn't working? Probably not. I hope all of his corruption gets brought out into the open. I doubt this was the only time he used university funds inappropriately.

I just don’t see how you can say that, and expect us to accept that as fact, because it’s not.

 

I can sit here and say “if you don’t think Brad is a possibility, then you are dead wrong”, but that would be a lie. Unless you are Scott or Brad himself, you can’t sit here and say that Brad isn’t a serious contender, or that he will be or won’t be 100% out next coach.

 

Do I think he ends up our coach? I don’t, because that would just be too damn amazing. But no one can sit here and say he 100% will not be without guessing.

Agree with you, but that wasn’t the point. It’s not our investment, so as the post I quoted suggests, “who cares?”

I am 100% pro-pay the players. What I took issue with, was that it was to save Woody's job when he should never have gotten a fourth season and had zero recruits. I care not that Leal and Gallo probably make like 10x their market value or who pays for it. I cared that the money bought him another season. 

I am a firm believer in chasing the dollar particularly for guys with limited professional potential beyond college. The players made business decisions that pro-woody boosters were willing to support, I do not fault the players for that. 

We were mostly pointing out you could give Woody a zillion dollar roster and it would not magically make him into a good coach, or the coach for the future at IU. So we wasted a year and the rich people wasted their money. Is what it is.

The "who cares" also can apply to wondering why people are getting all cranky because others complain about what players are getting through NIL.

In speaking about the Great White Whale of Brad Steven’s, honestly l, don’t even think money is an issue, AT ALL , if you were to ask Dolson. He is the end of the rainbow for Dolson and most likely all IU fans, especially if we have legitimate chance to land him.

After that money may become a little more conservative, but not much if Dolson can get options #2.

Nobody would care how much they make if they were winning. People point out the bad ROI because the product on the court is bad as a result. “Who cares?” As in… spend all the money in the world if that’s what it takes to build a winner… ain’t my money… lol. Winning cures all
