Class of '66 Old Fart

IUBB vs #2 Kansas - Saturday, 12.16.23 @ 12:30 on CBS

Recommended Posts

Not going to be negative. We all watched the game and the final score says everything. We are not good enough yet. Woodson has work to do. It felt all game like we were hanging on and infact we were. Kansas hits the shots and makes the plays when it counts to win. No moral victorys and no excuse for this program not to perform at a top level by now.

Gabe Cupps played 35+ minutes and had 2 point, 1 assist, and 2 rebounds.  Kansas looked to take advantage of him on switches.

But you don't think X would make much of a difference?

Well I was talking in general, not just this game, X had 4 points and 1 assist against UCONN so you never know what you are going to get. Sorry but the guy is inconsistent and who knows how rusty he will be coming back? Should be an improvement....but not sure, if he ever comes back, if it will be enough to get us in the tournament?

X scores 6-8 points and it’s a W

Not to mention it would have been more difficult for their perimeter guys to take X down to 3-5 feet and shoot  over him.

Cupps was in front of his guy, on a number of those plays, but  it was a physical mis-match.

Ware very good against the Harvards, Wright States and Armys.

Against the UConns, Auburns and Kansases -- not so much.

He'd better get used to playing physical, it's every game in the B1G.

No moral victories.  That said, if we play like this the rest of the year, good things will happen in the Big Ten.  I'm not one for hot takes or declarations......just seems like after the disaster that was the Auburn game, I was expecting a similar type of score today.
