I like what you did there but that is not who I was talking about. I think this guy's time overlapped with ARE though.

From 97-02 (when ARE was drafted), the NFL IU draft picks were: Nathan Davis, Steve Lee, Victor Allotay, and Chris Liewienski. '03 was Gibran Hamdan. Courtney Roby was '05, could be some overlapping. Really really really bored at work lol

Your still missing one. Not sure he was drafted but played for a long time.

Kane Womack and Paul Chryst should be names that get calls.

I think Chryst got shafted at UW. He'd be a home run as far as IUFB is concerned.

Randle El would just be a bad idea. Learning how to be a head coach on the fly in the B1G at IU has the potential to be quite rocky.

I love the thought of him being involved with the program in some capacity, but as head coach? Seems like a stretch to me.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them hire Art Briles, people will say he has baggage and on the older side(it is working with Mack Brown and UNC). He had a legal victory last week clearing  him of negligence. He would bring his son as the OC and he is a proven winner. Briles does not have many opportunities, so he wouldn’t break the bank.

Just win baby.

68 years old but if we can find someone with a little baggage (age and a charge that was dropped) that may allow us to land someone with a higher probability of winning.

I would go with Justin Frye as my most realistic candidate.  Former IU player who has worked under Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly, and now Ryan Day and I think he would not only take the job but possibly via a contract that gives the administration a bit more room to work out of this mess.  No HC experience yet but multiple years as OC and OL coach, knows how to gameplan against B1G competition, and he's a guy who simply knows how winning programs do things. I think that was one of the positives Kevin Wilson brought to the program, and given the shape IU football is in I think that may be a quality needed above anything else.

Jason Candle from Toledo is also a viable candidate in my opinion, and he may want to hold out for something better but I would also call Manny Diaz at PSU.  His defensive unit has done well at PSU and he got kind of a raw deal at Miami, therefore if he badly wants another shot to prove his ability as HC Indiana would be an opportunity to quickly get back to that level.

In any case, whatever they do, please, please, please don't do another internal promotion.

I would agree with everything about Justin. I believe he has a house in Brown Co already. I believe he interviewed last summer or the summer before but Allen thought he cussed too much. But he could call plays as the HC

If this is true then things are even worse than imagined.

To quote Justin Frye, his thoughts on the IU head coaching job are, "That *******  s***ty job? Kiss my @$$ and get that ******* **** out of here!"

Can anyone confirm if the new OC got a 3 year deal? I know he’s highly paid now but a 3 year deal lining up with Tom’s contract I assume?

There goes more money Dolson needs to find.

Sooooooooooooft. Lol. I remember watching a game last year and Allen was trying to get after one of the refs and it was easy to read his lips say "That's BULLCRAP!" I couldn't stop laughing and I don't know how the ref kept a straight face. Just say it Tom! It will feel so much better!!
