Caleb's younger brother was a walk-on freshman this past season who apparently only logged one minute. Was on Matt Roth's state title team at Blackhawk the year before. I assume Caleb is a strong candidate to portal out of PUke given how his role diminished and they need at least one underclassman to leave just to bring in their incoming freshman. Berg might be a possible departure as well since they've already recruited over him with another super center.

Definitely agree with the last part. They've almost made an identity solely out of crapping on us and do so constantly while simultaneously screaming how much better they are. Yet we're supposed to turn around and low-key root for them when it's clear we're out of the picture. To each their own, but not on my watch. I don't enjoy watching their games, I hate the way they get officiated, and their fans make them hard to even be ok with. And I don't know Painter or any one of their kids personally or behind closed doors whatsoever so I'm not going to promulgate how good of people they are. From my perspective they are a black and gold stain on the underwear of college basketball and they make me enjoy the game less because of their presence. Screw them eternally.

Agree, Porter took most of his college career to become what he has, Sean East to an extent as well. I do recall Mike Roberts going to watch Porter at VU once in early 2020 but I think that was about the extent of any connection he had with IU. Either way it's cool to see him get a team deal with the Cavs, I'm happy for him.

It's crazy how much under the radar talent was in state just from the 2016-20 classes. Desmond Bane, Jake Laravia, and Craig Porter Jr are all active roster NBA players, not to mention Sean East and others still in college I'm likely forgetting. Could probably also throw Nijel Pack in as he wasn't offered by IU, PU, or ND despite being a 4-star.
  6. That was during the stretch when that IU team lost 12 out of 13 conference games and that one may have been the worst of them all. A 66-51 loss at home to Tim Miles' last Nebraska team. Then proceeded to lose again by 15 to Purdue later that same week.

The media reaction to that, or any mention of Purdue doing anything other than going to the Final Four:
  8. The three years I was on campus were Crean's three rebuilding years, and he deserves a lot of credit for enduring 28-66 those first three seasons on its own, let alone what was accomplished thereafter. 2008-11 was tough times. It's entirely possible it was time for a change in 2017 and I don't know about all the losing recruiting relationships stuff, that's all intel I don't have. But I'll always be appreciative of him taking the job when he did and how much fun the seasons were when things came together. Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with thinking Crean had some odd quirks, but in retrospect I've found myself actually having a bit of an appreciation for the savagery that could be Tom Crean at times.

I used to think Purdue fans were the absolute worst of the worst, but between being a follower of boxing and the toxicity within that sport as well as listening to the post-Covid musings of Walmart Wolverines, I think Purdue fans slightly moved up in my book without actually doing anything.
