A Reibe, Mullins, Sisley PLUS one freshman class would be very nice building block.  The portal is always going to be there for Indiana with our NIL options but this class will likely need to be 6-7 overall, maybe 8.  I think Cupps, Tucker, probably Reneau, One of Carlyle/Rice returns, and then very, very unlikely with Mgbako.

I'd be heart attack level surprised if Mgbako returns for year three.

I don't think he has any trouble getting off work to go see his kid play. I think either school Braylon picks his parents will be able to see every game.

The bigger complication imo isn’t the travel. It’s that the twin brothers will still be playing at GC and does Josh continue to coach at GC or stop coaching with Braylon. As for his job as a cop he works at GC as the SRO

How old are his brothers. I saw a kid yesterday at the McDonald's in Mt Comfort that looked like Braylon but a few years younger. He was with an older gentleman who probably was his grandpa

Losing him to UCONN would be gut-wrenching. I get the allure but come on man…you grew up a fan, you have been offered the bag and you still get your path to the NBA. How can you mess this up? It’s not just about now. You lose out on being the prodigal son, the hometown hero, etc. You lose the state being behind you, following you closely, going to NBA games just for you - and so much more. You cannot quantify the value this university brings.

The buzz lately has not been very good.

Meh.  One random guy who is using the same 'source' who said Haralson was coming to IU says that Mullins is going to Connecticutt, throwing in the cavaet that 'it's not a done deal'.

Random people saying random things is older than the internet.

For the record, the tweeter in question:

1.  Did not predict Sisley to IU

2.  Predicted that Haralson was coming to Indiana per his ‘good source’.

Uhh...10/23...

Hearing Mullins is likely IU bound.

Now you guys can feel better.  I'm also just a random guy on the internet, so you can take my word for it. My sources are good, trust me.

I agree with all your points except the 'gut-wrenching' part. If he goes to UCONN or UNC then that is just a bad choice on his part. Not for basketball, but all the other reasons you mentioned. He can go to UCONN and be another guy on their team and win a lot of games...... Will that better prepare him for the NBA than at IU? Maybe, but probably not. Or this kid could OWN Indiana, in a Damon Baileyesque way, if he is even 75% of what we think he is. All you can do is provide opportunity. If Braylon goes elsewhere it will be disappointing, but mostly for him. In the 49 other states it's just basketball......

It usually isn't when it's IU basketball recruiting somebody. I'm more surprised when a player actually announces for us anymore. At least now we know we can just buy players from the portal in the spring.
