Him turning us down Vs us going in a different direction are 2 different things.

either way this Staff needs a W, and apparently so do the fans.

there is a program momentum arc with getting the guys you target and want. (We’ve had this and most of these discussions before)

it’s a tough job out there.  The bright side is we have a lot of money to throw around so we will find some Hoosiers someplace.

Yeah, like I've said before momentum can stop quick so we need a good portal and not take a step back.

If we miss on our, apparently, top targets like Ware and Ledlum? Not good.

For me either way it didn’t and doesn’t matter which one it was.  I don’t worry about how the college basketball world perceives IU like others do.    Some people probably would hate the perception of Love turning down IU and how other fan bases viewed that more than IU just missing out on him.    You’re definitely right though it’s a tough job out there and IU does have a competitive NIL.   Buckle up

Same stuff every-time. We are getting this coach or this player. The worst part is most of us even the ones who know better fall for it over and over.

Classic message board stuff.  We get overly excited about potential lineups when recruits visit, basically think a commitment is in the bag, but it never pans out.

Recruiting is like everything else in life - never as good as it seems, but also never as bad either.  Unfortunately with us though, it's NEVER as good as it seems.

Nah, he’s making a financial and basketball decision and Alabama has both of those things in spades.  Culture decisions are generally from the recruiting team towards the player and not vice versa.  And it’s easily explained as a one off.

I knew my prediction a couple of days ago would come true and these post just shows it

I know Alabama has playing time available but they have lost a lot of players from last year's team. They could take a little step back next year. They lost 3 freshman Bradley is transferring and Miller and Clowney is going pro. I think Quinerly is also gone

I generally agree - the only reason I have a little bit more of a "wait and see" approach here is because of Ware's alleged significant introversion. If he thinks he will be more supported/closely guided/provided with structure/developed by an NBA guy in Woody, he may choose us. Comparing that to the chaotic season Bama just had (potentially very draining for an introvert living that news cycle day in and day out) along with the fact it could be tougher for him to stay on the court there compared to IU, make me think he will take his time to assess and make a non-emotional decision.

We will find out soon enough! Okay, maybe not as soon as we'd like...

One of the Bama guys involved is sitting in jail while the other is headed off to the NBA, so that won’t be a story for Alabama moving forward.

And honestly, if he’s such an introvert, going to a school where the student body cares 100x more about football than they do basketball would be a better atmosphere than a school like IU. The Hoosier Hysterics would be a nightmare for a significant introvert.

I could see it working in our favor if Oates can't tell him who the new assistants would be, as I think a recruit would want an idea of what the staff would look like. It also puts more pressure on Oates to sell his program and do the recruitment himself. But in today's world, I'd be shocked if Oates hasn't already reached out to someone with connections to Ware.

The linked article seems to me to mean that Ware likes the personal connections.  Accusations of Portal Target Kel’el Ware's Laziness Deserve Deeper Look (bestofarkansassports.com)

And it does not address the lazy aspect directly.  The main focus was/is that Ware was feeling alone at Oregon.

I'm guessing that this was already linked on this site.  My apologies for old news...4/1.

Being an introvert he could.  So if he feels good about connections with coaches and players at IU that could work in our favor.

Same could be said for Alabama though, and it'd be closer to home.
