Wow, went on Torvicks site this morning and it has us favored in only 3 more games with a 16-15 projected record, 43rd team under first 4 out. I know we are not a great team, but we are at least a middle of the pack team.

Massey has us favored in 6.  Although there are quite a few just a tic under 50%.

If this were to happen, I think people would be upset.

Torvick's got IU rated behind a Michigan team they beat on the road without Johnson and Pomeroy's got them behind both Michigan and a Maryland team they absolutely controlled. So, I'm good with just playing the games.

Both Torvick and Pom take previous point results into account heavily -- i.e., winning a game by 1 and losing a game by 10 would rank you worse than losing both games by 4 points.

There’s no way around the fact that our efficiency stats are bad. It could hurt us later on. But NET takes into account winning and losing, so if we win a bunch of close games we’ll be alright in both real life and nNET.  Things like torvik won’t go up much with a bunch of close wins, but every year there are outliers where efficiency systems don’t predict wins well for some teams.

Kyler Staley -- Per Indiana, Indiana freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

Alec Lasley - Indiana wing Mackenzie Mgbako was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. He averaged 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game — also shot 37.5% (6-of-16) on 3s.

Haven’t seen an injury report that discusses him yet. However, after tweaking something in his leg, he really didn’t play in the second half against Kennesaw. I’m more confident in Ware being available for Nebraska than Mgbako

In a rambunctious Assembly Hall party atmosphere IU men’s basketball team will probably be a middle seed in March Madness 2024 by finishing in the middle of the big ten pack and winning a game or two in big ten tournament and a game or two in March Madness.

Maybe

Yeah, you kind of missed on that one...

I found this on IU rivals.....Hmmmmm.

It leads me to believe he may be thinking about the portal.... JMO

T

Obviously this is a conversation for a couple of months down the road, but I think it’s fair to assume next year’s roster will look radically different.

CJ’s dad seems really positive on Twitter. I like that.

He’s an obvious candidate for a transfer for multiple reasons. But…those tweets could simply be referencing him overcoming some adversity (eg suspension or playing time) to turn into a better player.

It's really amazing how positive he's stayed through a rocky 2 years for CJ. Seems like a great guy and a great dad. Many could take notes on his humility.

I did notice his tone changed a bit during and after the Illinois game. Still positive, but definitely (and rightfully!) frustrated.

Yeah, I can understand it. Unfortunately he hasn’t flourished in his minimal time but I was hoping he’d see the court in Illinois.  I wondered if that was internal punishment for the flagrant. I kinda think it was. His long 2 takes and percentage pain me but I love his active hands on defense.
