For those bitching about defense, Iowa now has the #2 offense on Kenpom, ahead of Purdue. They have an elite offense. Good offenses hit open shots, and they hit contested ones too. It's what makes them an elite offense.

Absolutely brutal. We controlled this entire game except for the last minute. Lost on an absolute prayer after clawing back from 4 to tie it. Hard to be upset with the team. These boys became men this week/weekend. Get a win or two in the tournament next week and this program completely shifted its momentum going into next year. 
 

  How Fran McCaffery didn’t get T’d up for coming all the way into OUR COACHING BOX is beyond me. Absolutely unbelievable.

Melting down on this one says more about the poster than the team.

We had years of “sleep walking” effort under Archie but these guys busted their butts these 3 tourney games, @PU etc.

I think it’s more of this. Gotta be able to shoot the 3ball in todays game as well as have quality PG play. X has really stabilized the PG position - still waiting on those shooters. Great game other than those last few minutes

But we weren’t shooting well anyway? It wouldn’t have hurt to see if it lead somewhere. It’s good for that young man’s confidence as well for the future.

and most of those were defended. they got a few wide open shots and hit them, but most of those threes they hit came down against some pretty good defense.

That game was lost because of our 3 point defense. We let them beat us the only way they could. Why we let Murray and Bohannon shoot open 3 after open 3 will haunt me

You can’t lose that game after being up 67-58. Bad execution down the stretch with all involved. Biggest possession was when IU had three open looks from distance. Missed all three shots and Iowa goes down and ties it on just one shot

I’ll say this in Kopp and Stewarts defense. They really tried hard and at the end of the day, I’m not going to get upset. All I ever care about is effort.

Iowa made 4 STRAIGHT 3s to end the game.  I repeat they made 4 straight to end the game.  They couldn't do that if they tried 20 times.

They had 14 3s. We had 5. 

We need to be hitting 8 to 10 from distance a game.

Last Davidson almost carried WI.  Today Bohannon dealt the fatal blow.  Having a guy that's played a thousand B10 games can come in handy.  Maybe Rob or Race can play until 2025.

Agree. We look very good statistically everywhere but 3Pt %. If we shoot just a bit better we win.
