Well that certainly can't happen, can it? Stewart on Ivey and he'll go for 60

Maybe that’s the strategy? Put P Stew on him and give him an 8’ cushion? Ivey will go full gunner if allowed.

I guess one of Kopp/P Stew can chase Sasha and watch him flop all over.

I agree that this team has every piece to contend except the most important piece which is PG. It's such an injustice to TJD and Race who I'd put up with any front court in the conference. Would also help if Race could extend the defense but PG is definitely holding the rest of this team back. I've been a guy that's had Rob's back in the past but I'm now over him and would honestly rather see Galloway or Lander take his minutes. Geronimo should be the only post sub (fouls allowing) to see the floor. He can sub at 4 for Race and then move Race to the 5 when TJD needs a rest because Durr is not good.

Galloway has really grown on me this year, obviously, but if I never see him drive baseline with no plan again, I will have still seen it far too many times in my life.
I agree but at the same time he is trying to make things happen. I can live with mistakes while trying to be aggressive. The mistakes because you are scared (RP) or because you let emotions get the best of you (XJ) I can't accept. Why can't we get a good PG?!?!?!?!

Love love love his aggressiveness. I just really need him to make things happen that don’t involve going baseline and jumping with the ball while basically hoping for the best. He has a killer floater, maybe get that going on the baseline.

They showed 3 Neb highlights, 2 of them were P Stew getting beaten badly. Can we not sag one defender, Geronimo or Race preferably, on the weak side to stop that?

I’m afraid purdoodoo is going to take advantage of that or when we slide to help some wide open threes.

Not that anyone needs convincing but the state of the PG depth is yet another reason IU was right to move on from Arch. Maybe he was a bit snakebit with Phin’s injuries, and maybe Lander rounds into a solid contributor, but his whole tenure lacked adequate PG play and he left things even worse

jumping with the ball while basically hoping for the best ... Hmm. Reminds me of someone ... a young, dynamic point who ran into traffic with no plan and left his feet ... But he turned out pretty decent ... :)

Watch Phin pound the air out of the ball or watch X turn it over. Tough choice. I *think* I go with X because he can occasionally take it to the rim and finish. Also anyone that has coached or been coached has probably heard the “errors of omission vs errors of commission” spiel which X embodies. But damn if he doesn’t take it so far sometimes that you have to wonder if it’s even worth it.

If this team had a top 5 in the B1G level pg it would be a consistent top 25 team and a 4/5 seed in the tourney. So frustrating to watch X and Phin struggle out there.

Either a better shooting PG, or a 3pt assassin SG... Either would put this team over the top.

While the previous staff really wanted Rob they also wanted another pg to go along with him.  Garland was always going to be a one and done but they ended up missing out on a ton of others after Garland and just missed out.  Duke, Devoe,  Lewis, Mann, Carton, Terry.  Everyone of them went somewhere else.

I miss him dearly. And he drove me batty doing it too.

It’s a Big Ten road W !!

Still have an upside limit due to PG play. They are both giving a lot of effort, appreciate that but both have been around a while and “they are what they are” at this point.  We can ***** and moan all we want but neither guy is going to all the sudden turn into Yogi or Isiah.

Great to see Geronimo’s play tonight. He previously rightfully lost minutes, when he looked lost on the floor, but he looked good tonight. Dude can rebound and has a good shot.

Durr will give us some big man minutes against teams like PU and has a decent stroke. On the other hand I’m pretty sure I have a higher vertical than him and I’m over 60….LOL.

Tonight we averted a nuclear melt-down, impact which would have been felt world wide, on the board. Win 2 of the next 3 and we will be in a good position to go dancing. Let’s shock the world and beat the boilers.
