They're gonna smother Trayce like Hoiberg did. Woody has stated that that's our expectation for every game. Leaves more room for Race to flourish. Hope he does.
That's why our shooters and Race need to come through consistently. Stewart, Kopp, Bates, Leal (possibly in spots) hitting outside shots will keep teams honest. As much as that is necessary so is TJD getting better at passing out of double teams. I don't think he's been bad but he can get a whole lot better. Patience is tough but if he starts to learn that those passes will open up his "good" opportunities later in games this offense can hum because I believe we have the shooters that can get it done.

I would like to see us shorten the rotation a little bit.

Leal has earned some minutes with his play.  A lot of Bates.  Phin at the backup point guard.  Durr a couple minutes in the first half to give TJD a quick breather.

KL on standby in case of foul trouble.

Jordan - DNP

Our inside- out play can improve. The 3-point shooting is improving and as we get more inside- out going the floor will expand with it

Not going to happen!  Actually, this team will get much better when our depth gets better.

I can’t figure out why people want our rotation to get tighter.  The deeper we are the better we are and can wear teams down.  That is why we play better in the 2nd half.  Most of the substitutions will happen in the 1st half and a tighter rotation in the 2nd half, just like RMK when he was coaching.

Plus, it will allow us to not wear down at the end of the season!

Well Woody has repeatedly said he would like to have a 9 deep rotation.  I’m all for depth.  Quality depth.  Unfortunately the biggest piece off the bench is injured.  Without Trey the 9 deep that give us the best chance does not include KL or JG.  Bates and Phin are going to get a lot of minutes.  Durr is going to get spot minutes.  Leal’s play has shown that he is deserving of more minutes.   I hope we can stay out of foul trouble and we see a lot of the starters along with Bates, RP, and Leal along with Durr getting some run in the first half.

Geronimo has excellent upside and has already shown good D, give him run and he’ll contribute, sit him and try to play 9 with tighter rotations and we fall into a hole repeatedly in the first half because we have a defensive liability on the wing whose shot has been inconsistent but who has nonetheless sometimes continued to shoot repeatedly while missing everything leaving a lack of offensive balance, and a really good point but who can’t help but foul early.
I’ve never been in the 8-9 man rotation camp, we do have depth and should use it. We have guys who are close whi need run, so they help when they come in and aren’t ice cold and lacking floor chemistry (we’ve already seen that).

We are missing Galloway though - he was really coming on, and that’s because he got developed, the guy who couldn’t shoot got better with time and run, playing to his strengths as a point-forward type.

Most of the substitutions will come during the first half.  That is 9 you named, JG will get minutes because of his ability to guard multiple positions.  At the Bahamas, JG was one of their best players off the bench.  I think he’s in a little funk, give him a little more games and I bet he’ll snap out of it and give us positive minutes.

I want to see us give smart effort to start the game…

I concur!   We seem to play well in the 2nd half but we can’t seem to get off to good starts in the 1st half of games.  Getting off to a good start will be key to beating Wisconsin.  That starts with the X staying on the floor and keeping his head in the game!

Great early test for us on the road. Great measuring tool for fan base and coaching staff.

Exactly! With that being said I hate to admit I just don't see a win from the Hoosiers! I wish I had more optimism but we just haven't won  games we aren't supposed to anymore in a long time. Syracuse game prolonged that feeling for me. We clearly are better than the Orange yet still lost. We need to kick the door down and win some games like tonight. Hope I am wrong!

Having a deep bench doesn't mean chaos on the floor with every player playing every game. I think CMW is a matchup coach who is going to play the guys who give us best matchup advantage. He goes with the guys who are playing well and subs for those who aren't. I like his situational approach much better than a locked in substitution pattern. That said, we really need for Lander to continue to grow and to get Galloway back into the tool box.
