That roster with a junior Juwan Morgan and Robert Johnson should not have lost by 21 at home to ISU.  And aside from them did ISU (who finished 13-18 that year) even have players better than a young Smith, Durham, Green and Deron Davis? I don’t think so.
I'm not arguing that IU had any business losing that game

Or any game at assembly hall but here we are. Who was the team crean lost to at home long after the rebuild and it was the end of the world? I believe the team was actually good but my now every game is in question. Sad day when cupcakes are a scare

P Stew started off strong, then disappeared, Miller Kopp didn’t really provide anything except one play. Those two have to score some points.

He sat for a while after that phantom flagrant 2 then never got any looks when he got back in. Agree that those two have to consistently knock down open looks for us to be successful. I would have like to see more TOs used in the 2nd half to remind our guys to get the ball in the paint and move the ball more. Waaaay too many bad shots early in the shot clock by guys who aren’t trusted shooters

Eastern Washington, I believe.  Turns out they weren't a bad team -- finished the year 26-9 with four losses to power five teams.  Won their conference tournament and were a 13 seed in the dance, falling to 4th seeded Georgetown 84-74.

Didn’t watch the game but holy crap I hate that adidas logo on our jerseys. Such an eye sore

It’s funny how people notice different things. I see posts about IU uniform logos, stripes, stars, color combinations, length, fit. etc etc and I laugh at myself because I literally don’t notice any difference between uniforms we wear.

I do notice when a baseball team trots out wearing throwback 1940’s uniforms, with hideous colors, but aside from that……nothing.

100%.

Its just one game, and I’m not jumping to a premature conclusion, but those two need to be perimeter threats to stay on the court. I think/hope that they will be.

He’d benefit by working inside/out. Get some confidence by hitting some mid rage 10-15 footers then take the open 3s when the opportunity comes within the scope of the offense. As Woody stated in the post game, we just need to stop the unnecessary outside shots early in the shot clock.

It’s one game.  I need more of a sample size to know how I feel about anything concrete.  This was a start and I’m happy their is a start and the season is here!
I like what Woodson is trying to do on the defensive end and we will see if the offense comes around - betting it will get a lot better.

My take on the rotation outside of the starters is when RP is playing like he did in the first half (that’s who I always thought he was) then their is not going to be minutes for Lander.  He will not always be a DNP but I don’t see him getting a lot of minutes.  Bates is going to play a lot - the kid has been injured and not practicing but the potential is obvious.  Trey is going to play (I know not everyone here will like it but I like Trey more than most).  Jordan G is going to have to play a lot better especially when Durr is back if he wants to continue to see playing time.

Well there has to be a reason…players don’t just continually regress with their shooting. It’s one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen. Year over year, shooting gets worse and right now there remains only one constant over the past 4 years.

So where do we go with this when we inevitably raise our 16% 3pt shooting? As long as these guys aren’t doing hard strength sessions the day of the game, there’s really nothing he’s doing that is the primary cause of these shooting woes. Strength doesn’t translate to inaccuracy, poor form, or poor self efficacy. With the reps/shots these guys are getting up daily their mechanics and muscle memory will adapt fine regardless of their strength.

A lack of strength, however, gets you outmuscled on the block and 2nd place for loose balls.

Getting a big lead and then eking out at the end for a win and maybe not a win has been an IU trademark for years now. Need to break that cycle now…. For good!
