Sorry if this has been shared. I don't have time to wade through all these pages. But TJD appears to be confused by the move ... 
 
 

Hopefully Woodson tells TJD he can do for him what he did for Randle if TJD comes back.

Indiana has just hired the most experienced coach in program history.

1. Started at IU for 4 years

2. 2000+ career scorer

3. All American

4. 11 year NBA player and 10,000+ scorer

5.  14 year NBA coach - head coach of 2 teams

6.  From Indiana and member of Indiana basketball hall of fame.

So he lacks college experience but he has been successful at everything he has done in the past.  If he hadn't have been successful his career as a player and coach would have been very brief.  To have a 25 year professional career means that he has been able to develop relationships and is respected.

Wonder if the others that might have been suggested for the IU job could have matched the success that Woodson has had.  The next level up from college is littered with "great" players and coaches the washed out very quickly.

Mike Woodson has earned a chance to turn the IU program around and those that can't see that are idiots.  NOBODY can see the future

No room for a fire thread.   A lot of us may not actually be excited about this hire, but we should all be wiling to support him and see what happens.  There will be plenty of time down the road to criticize the man if things go bad.  In the meantime lets support him and hope he is the greatest hire ever in the history of the school.

Hunter is in the mix and I’ve heard Cheaney could be in the mix. Also watch for Fife.

Can’t say that I’m not a little disappointed, but I’m certainly willing to give him a chance and see what he can do. He has NBA head coaching experience. Sure, he may not have lit it up, but neither did Cal or Pitino or Bielien. If he brings in a good staff, which I totally expect, he should do well. If he wins, the recruits will come.
