Feathery Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Bennett, Beard, or Musselman. All say no, then Beilein. edit: if the money is there add Oats to the list. MoyeNeeded and Hardwood83 2 Quote
Blackmon_for_3 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Fife with a few other former players on the bench. Maybe give it a shot with an IU guy and go from there. Quote

If he wins it won’t matter and recruits love guys with NBA coaching experience. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners I think they have similar personalities, or could be considered “out there”, but the main important difference is that it seems like Musselman has self-awareness, which was non-existent with Crean. Musselman seems like a great time. He and Oats have my vote. IUfan_Charlie, JaybobHoosier and Hardwood83 3 Quote
mdiu28 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 In no real order. Just make one of the following say no just like that punk that turned us down (minus Beilein. I think he'd take the job in a second) Donovan (yes, ******* call him, who cares) Beilein (just took me 2 minutes to spell his name. I hate it but he wins) Jay Wright (yep - call him) Bennett (yep - call him) Few (do it, Scott) If all these fail - Musselman - he had his team READY TO GO in the 2nd half today. We haven't had a coach like that since Knight. . . . . . Beard - I don't think the hype is real with him but whatever. He's got juice. Quote
Trish Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I'm seeing some unity in this thread.. DANE ********** FIFE! - An Indiana Guy (double check plus) - Knows the B1G (double check plus) - Won at Indiana (double check plus) -Can recruit the B1G (double check plus) -We finally land our Indiana guy with an Indiana staff potentially. VO5 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Beard. No question. After that it gets really foggy for me. Maybe Musselman or Pope. Woodsonshump 1 Quote
reconmkd Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I don’t know who, but I have that deep gut feeling that it’s going to be someone underwhelming. As much as I hate even saying this, I believe this is the straw that breaks the camels back for IU basketball. BtownStrength and T White 2 Quote

Honestly we're probably looking for a new coach in four years again. reconmkd 1 Quote

At some point the giant won't be asleep it'll be dead. Honestly, I feared the last hire may have been that point. T White 1 Quote
cbp4iu Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 If Porter Moser gets to the final 4 again... You have to look that way. But it has to be Beard or Drew. Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 My #2 is a group. Oats/Musselman/Beard/Drew. Hire one of those guys and I’ll be absolutely thrilled. Hire outside of this group and I might not be.. Crazy about IU, Parakeet Jones, Zachetology and 3 others 6 Quote

Stuhoo Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Oats or Beard? Why of course. I am overwhelmingly hoping for a 20+ year coach. Moser, Gates, Wes Miller! kottke 1 Quote

HoosierTrav Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 If these talks really got this far along and have been going on as long as many have said. Imagine how drained Dolson is right now. Hope he has the resolve to pick himself up off the mat and comes out swinging harder. I’ve had very big letdowns before and it takes some serious mental toughness to pull through. Let’s hope some good coaches want this challenge. Quote
