Just wanna say I think it’s unlikely Turgeon is a legit candidate, but also wanna point out that it’s hilarious everyone is quick to jump on someone and dismiss what they’re saying when it’s something they don’t want to believe, even though Turgeon rumor is way less outlandish than believing someone is gonna leave the Boston Celtics for a college job.

Why do people keep using 4-5yrs with Pearl?   Pitino kicking butt at 72 going on 73.  Belicheck just hired in football at 73.  Absent a health issue , Pearl could easily be a 7-10yr solution and put IU on very solid ground.

Actually, the prospect of us hiring Turgeon is WAY MORE outlandish than us hiring Stevens. 

Either is unlikely, but while the chance of us hiring Stevens may be low, the chance of us hiring Turgeon is 0.000%

Heck yea he could coach that long!  And after he tires of that he can run for President of the USA.  Only commenting on the age thing, not a political post!

Time and date? What about the planned press conference scheduled with FoxSports? Speaking from over 20 years of experience on the later, there is zero chance that is set like that. Zero.

not saying it couldn’t happen, but that it would not be set this far in advance and if it was the network would have to know the context/why and validate it being important enough to break in or override a scheduled program. If they did, it would leak in about 1 second. 

if there is any shred of legitimacy to it I will text/dig into it a bit but too embarrassed to even ask anyone at this point

Very possible.  I have no issue, and he was high on my list for sure but after looking at some others I just like the longer-term possibility for the future.  

 

If IU hired Pearl, I would not be upset at all.  I would actually be very happy with that pick.

Doesn’t make sense with how specific that is. Plus the game on that day is on ABC anyways, they would probably get a whiff of it before fox sports. This is some fun stuff to talk about while we wait!

Pearl has said he does not see himself coaching in his 70's so that is likely the reasoning.
