It’s only exhausting because you let it get to you.  Why do you care what random people post on a free message board.  Who cares what “insiders” say.   You don’t believe it so it should not effect you when they post something.

When people are delusional and allowed to believe what they want, it makes winning the internet sooooo exhausting.

So much Beard and Stevens talk. What makes either of them better than Dusty May? Stevens has been out of college basketball for an eternity.

If we can get Dusty I think everyone will be thrilled.  I’d say he’s definitely the most likely candidate.  Brad is a no so he’ll get the offer.  Probably 50/50 if he accepts.  Leary thinks he will.  If it’s a no who knows where Dolson goes next.

Just had a long sit down with a buddy getting a full update. As of now the plan is to have brad sign the contract on March 2nd. He wants to essentially finish his season as a GM with the Celtics which mainly ends in March 1st as a GM. The verbal agreement still stands but he does not want any announcement until after that point. So the signing Monday won't occur but this is all but locked down. Contract is 6 years 67 million and brad has an option to extend to 10 years after year 3. Includes promises towards IU funded NIL and assistant pools but I don't know the value behinds those numbers.

Just be patient. Hate me because of Goodman's tweet but there is a reason for all this optimism and it's that Brad still is a verbal agreement with IU and both IU and Stevens camp agree to all contract terms.

I could potentially buy waiting until March 2nd. But the contract details you added don't make sense. What would possibly be the benefit of a coach's option to extend? The coach would just want a fully guaranteed contract, with a miniscule buyout. I don't think I've ever heard of a coaching deal get structured that way. So this one doesn't pass the smell test.

I love this...so entertaining! No matter what happens, no matter who ends up being the coach, I still have to get up and go to work every morning. It literally makes no difference to me who the coach is. I just love the drama and fun that these coaching searches provide! Bring on the info! Thanks for sharing to those that do!

I’ll post this again.  I happen to know a few legit journalists who cover IU and none of them are hearing this stuff.  They have dug into the Brad statement and it’s a legit “no” in their view.  Maybe they’re wrong, I hope they are, but I really doubt it.

Has Brad given them the same “no?”   I just don’t buy that “I am not a candidate” = no.  That’s weasel language.  No means no.

Because there was never anything being discussed between IU and Brad.  He was never an option.  He doesn’t need to issue a public denial.
