Any thoughts on if Dusty did not want fishbowl of UL would he for IU?  Would he leave safe and successful Michigan?

Would he be happier at Michigan? Maybe. But he and his wife both grew up 30 minutes from Bloomington. Her parents live nearby and his mom lives in Bloomington. He’s an IU alum. IU will pay him a fortune. He will have huge NIL resources. I would not be surprised at all if he lands here.

If I had to bet my house….
I’m saying Brad doesn’t come to fruition and we get dusty.

In saying that, I’ve heard and seen great things on Dusty, loved the bit on the Journey on him the other night. But my gut, oversized gut, just isn’t sold on him bringing us back to where we used to be.

Hopefully I don’t have to eat crow on that because he won’t get offered, but even if Brad says no, I’ll be happy it’s dusty over woody and will be ready to keep supporting this team 110%.

No matter what. Woodson is gone. We all can be happy with that.

Right now I  am more concerned about getting relevant again over getting where we use to be. Of course winning a championship is the ultimate goal but we need to get back to just finishing near the top of the conference first. Then we need to get in the tournament every year and then making deep runs in the tournament

Importantly:  What is your bourbon...?  Mine...4 roses sm batch.  Or New Riff...  or   I'll have what you are having.

I’m gonna get fired for not being in the booze thread, but right now, Barrel Foundation. I can’t sing its praises enough at the price point.

Buzz Williams or Greg McDermott would kill it at IU

But with NIL, the transfer portal, and the right hire, that championship could come as early as next season... I agree that with our steady decline the last 25 years it seems like we should be following a slower progression to get back, but it's all different and we don't have to necessarily wait for all those steps.

IMO when IU fans talk of Stevens they think it’s 2015 not 2025. Stevens most successful college teams were 15 years ago now! He hasn’t coached college in 12 years. The guy will never live up to the expectations even if we could hire him with a record contract.

Dick Vermeil was retired from the NFL for 15 years and came back to win a Superbowl

No drive by suggestions. Get back in here and face the music young man.

I don’t want him. Just thought going by the schedule  it was that time for a new name to pop up.   Even if we hired this 66 year old we would still be in better shape than the last 4 years.   He has lost his fast ball but he can coach.  If I’m remembering right his agents out his name out there last cycle and he probably got a nice little raise

Thinking pass on $60 for 100 proof, which is Barrell Foundation's lower offering instead of cask strength.  I will get 4 Roses Single Barrell.  Thanks, though.

Dusty grew up hating UK and UL.  Could be a reason why he wouldn't want to coach at either of those places.  Michigan and Indiana's rivalry isn't that big of a deal.  Michigan hates Ohio State and MSU,  so the Wolverines were a good choice if he plans to leave them one day and return to. Indiana.

Wouldn’t that depend on the expectation that people set for him

Honest question, if Brad actually became the head coach, what expectations would realistically set for him?

Ranked every year and sweet 16 every year or banner year every year.

For me if any of these 5 coaches were to get the job I think they will be successful here. These are the ones that I think we might have a chance so no Oats, Few, Drew

Stevens

May

McCollum

McDermott

Cronin

I mean he’d be the highest paid coach in basketball. That comes with whatever expectations Duke, KU, and UCONN have these days
