Some say you're slow but I say you’re right on time. Just kidding but I like your point of view

Dolson spends the past 11 months working on Stevens. Offer on the table with 2 weeks to decide. Call with AAU coaches which he knew would leak, maybe putting “friendly” pressure out there to see how Stevens reacts. How he reacts probably can tell Dolson a lot about how to prioritize over the next few weeks.

I don't think it gets past Dusty...but if for some reason it does...go slap a moral clause and get Beard. We don't have to go from option B to F. Simply my 2 cents.

UK, UL, and UM didn't look at Beard in their processes.  We won't, UNC won't... every big brand program or school has the same issues when it comes to hiring him.

To me it sounds like we likely have a verbal agreement and this 2 weeks is to review the contract for other terms that perhaps have not yet been discussed but are not the big ones.  I am not sure why else Scott would hint at basically one candidate unless in his mind there are multiple logical non college options.  I would not discuss or suggest much unless "Scott got his man" and they are just negotiating small things.

I like the way you think. We just need to stay positive and carry this across the finish line

How did Jay Wright attract enough athletes to win multiple titles, playing so slow?

Also, I’ve got some bad news about some of those Brad Stevens teams…

Neither Wright nor Stevens' teams were 364th (dead last, by a significant amount) in tempo, like McCollum's is.  Stevens' teams that went to the title game were 286 and 262.  Villanova's title team was 150th.

Come on man, there is no way it ends up with another Woody.  No way.  I am 1000% confident that Dolson has other guys he will talk to if Stevens falls through.   We may not get who we really want, but it will not be another version of Woody.

I’ll believe Scott Dolson can hire a great basketball coach when he actually goes out and does it. Everything basketball-related decision during his tenure has been a disaster.

I find your lack of faith disturbing

I am not speaking for anyone else, but we’ve been here before and then ended up with freaking Mediocre Mike!  We don’t want history repeating itself.  So until it’s official many of us maybe a little skeptical.

Some people you just can't help. That's just how they live their life

I feel ya.  I'm cautiously, excitedly optimistic, but I was mostly having fun with his profile pic

He wasn't putting any pressure on him. Some would say he was following orders

Following orders...interesting thought.  So Stevens told him to help ease the tension around the state by giving the AAU coaches some info to appease them for the time being.

Then it could be Tom Crean, lol!

My IU fandom has become skeptical. For me, I haven’t watched a single game for the last 7+ years where I thought with 100% certainty we’re going to win this. I’m allowing myself to get excited for IU basketball over the thought of getting Stevens. I’ve been let down so much worse. Let me feel this joy!!!

Who watched a nova team and thought "wow these guys play slow" lol.. no. Didn't happen.

Only time they slowed it down was to post-iso Brunson
