IMO even if he says yes in 2 weeks it’s way more likely that the announcement is made the day after we lose in the BTT than anytime during the season. Could be wrong though.

no chance that stays under wraps that long.

Yeah, my bad. Basically said Dolson gave Brad 2 weeks to decide and Dolson talked to AAU coaches in the state to try an mend relationships.

Cleaning up after Woody is going to take some time.  He is the worst.  Literally.

Interesting, as in mend relationships that the current staff has broken/harmed?

That’s how I took it. Would Dolson be talking to AAU coaches and dropping info like that if he wasn’t confident on where things were headed? This convo was bound to leak. Is that the intention?

At least we can put to bed whether or not we are negotiating with Brad. This makes it obvious to anyone that we have discussed contract with him, issued him an offer, and he is considering it. So please trolls, go back under your bridges. He didn’t tell us no (yet).

Probably was but he didn’t specifically say Brad.  Said targeting non college person, would move to high major college in 2 weeks

Probably not, but it’s all just smoke until it’s announced / confirmed by multiple legit media outlets. They have no reason to announce sooner because A) Brad probably wants to get through waiver deadline with the Celtics before announcing anything at minimum B) there’s little upside to doing it before the BTT. Portal still isn’t open. Can back channel to build staff without it being officially announced.

For fun, I peek at the FB fan pages every now and then. Maybe I shouldn't, because the lack of intelligence there is sometimes frightening.

But I've seen several posts of this ilk: C'mon people, let's just let Dolson do his job and stop guessing about the new coach.

Dadgum, that's funny. I really don't think Dolson is going onto fan pages and saying, "Hmmmm -- I never thought of that guy. Lemme look into that."

Coaching searches are fun. So are free fan pages -- at least they can be.

Keep on speculating!

Here it is folk.  Which do you want?

Better athletes or better basketball players.

Reminds me of the RMK platitude:  Mental over physical as 3 to 1.

But that is not where I am.  I want a coach that understands Xs and Os and can get the best out of matchups.  And one that is a winner at IU.

Not fun to watch, huh? Yeah, I guess defense is not fun to watch.  Nor is sharing the ball and passing./s

  I want winners.

Bob Knight's teams must have been not fun to watch.  Could have fooled me and I was there when they went undefeated.  They refused to lose.  Not fun to watch.

We need a coach that is a winner.   It would be really nice if that coach did not have a lot of, uhm, issues that would possibly hurt the school's image...funding...and scare off recruits.  Would be nice if that coach would be able to change and adjust depending on the team makeup and the opponents.

It's not mutually exclusive

I took a screenshot of it but not gonna post it. Trilly says there's a non-college coach we're looking at and he has two weeks to give his answer before moving on to sitting high major coaches. No names were given but we obviously know who it is.

Gotta be one of these two, right? LOL!

Omg you guys...are you all going to fall for this a second time?

Some seem to be. I'll believe it when it's announced.

Assuming the "non-college coach" is referring to Stevens then obviously talks and negotiations have been happening.

We put a timetable on him?

Seems pretty standard for a life changing event.

Scott: So everything’s all set and ready for your success. We’ll make you the highest paid coach in the game, a decade of guaranteed money, and one of the highest NIL budgets available. What do you say?

BS: it all looks great. Can I have a couple weeks to mull it over and talk to my family before we totally uproot and come back home?

Scott: Absoultely!  We still have our lame duck coach in there for a few more weeks anyway.

If the AAU coaches discussion is accurate, it seems like Dolson must feel pretty confident. Otherwise, why say that now? We all know who he means. And it’s not like repairing AAU relationships is critical right this second. I may be reading too much into it but there it is.

Does seem a bit odd to get several aau coaches on a conference call and mend fences by dropping them some juicy tidbits.
