 University basketball coach Bobby Knight was charged with assaulting a police officer in Puerto Rico during the Pan American Games. He was tried in absentia and sentenced to six months in jail and a $500 fine.

I was a kid when these things happened, and by the time I was a teenager in the 90s and knew better, I was embarrassed by his actions. Emotionally intelligent adults can control their temper in public and not resort to violent actions. Helluva basketball coach, and did a lot of good in this world as well. He was a very complex individual. 

Chris Beard is 100% not Bob Knight as a basketball coach, and does not have his reputation for all the good Bob Knight did outside the game either. There are better options than a guy who probably beat the hell out of his girlfriend, has an alcohol problem, and is 66-59 in conference games.

Well, it won’t be bad as last time.  Woodson was such a stupid choice for coach.  I still can’t fathom it to this day.  If, God forbid, IU doesn’t get Stevens, the backup plan will be there.

If we don't get a big name i am for a interim coach until we get a home run to say yes. It's huge for the future at this point.

How about we worry about making the tournament every year before we start worrying about banner 6. To think IU is too good for Bo Ryan or Matt Painter level results given the last 30 years is utterly ridiculous.

I come here after work to get positive news and all I've been reading is why we can't get any top coaches.  Just because we've chosen poorly the last 5 hires doesn't mean that we can't get it right this time.

He's spinning it like IU is the problem itself rather than the problem is that IU has hired bad coaches. 

He also left out that coaches would have a real chance here given the resources available now in this changing NCAA landscape.
