All that said, if Beard is in recovery, comes out and speaks about what he did and how he effed up. Goes to schools to talk to kids about domestic violence. Donates money to women’s shelters. Becomes an advocate for women who are victims of domestic abuse. Attends AA meetings weekly. Devotes himself to God. Attends church daily. Takes a vow of poverty. Takes a vow of celibacy. Spends most of his free time volunteering to build homes for veterans that survived POW camps. Spends the rest of his time rescuing puppies from villains in Disney stories.

None of that moves the needle? The answer is still no? Full stop?

I really want to understand if Beard is completely irredeemable.

Yep, and for that reason I am cooling on Beard, some people will never forgive him and this fanbase needs to heal, I am really starting to agree with Fanta that if not Stevens, then Otzelberger is the best choice.

Beard is an incredible coach and I believe he wants the job.

I think the dropped charges are not a de facto deal breaker.

I think that potential major unaddressed alcohol issues, if true and coupled with the dropped charges, are a deal breaker. I do not know how troubling the alcohol issues have been and currently are. If they could be completely vetted he’d be a legit candidate.

I just realized how long of a month/six weeks this is going to be. Normally, like when Crean and Archie were canned, it’s at the end of the season and the wait is only a couple of weeks (I think). This is going to feel like a eternity.

Kind of an interview in front of a huge crowd. Should Michigan play poorly he may drop down the list. But if they play very well he could climb to the top of most fans lists.

Stevens, May, and Beard are my top 3. Get one of them and I’ll be happy. Once we dip away from those three I’ll get concerned.
