I’ve never seen a board spin out of control so damn quick like this one does!  Jesus Lol

Types of posters:

1) people who believe everything they read that matches what they want.

2) people who believe everything that goes against the grain,  simply the other side of the coin to 1.

3) cynical people like me who think the sweet meteor of death is likely around the corner so don’t believe anything on a forum

Mix them up and watch it go.

I still just don’t understand the whole rumored NDA/everyone getting told to shut up for a McCollum type name. Seems like Dolson put all his eggs in the Stevens, Donovan, Pearl, or similar level name basket. This is playing out eerily similar to 4 years ago.

Scott tried.  He missed...again.

Woody’s gonna be back, isn’t he? Doesn’t matter who’s on your list if they all say no.  If I’m Dolson & it gets down to Brownell, why pay the $8million buyout for Woody & for Brownell?  Think about that, $16 million + $5-6 annually for Brad Brownell?  SD should be fired if that’s where we end up, but if McCollum goes to Iowa, welp…

The pessimism is understandable but Brownell’s buyout is a moot point.  It will be DeVries or McCollum.  Iowa’s first move on the public front will be telling…

Woody will get his 8 mil over the next 8 years.

And most are always wrong in the end like four years ago.

And they always have a good excuse for being wrong.  They talk out of both sides of their mouths as well.

I think the way the Stevens news got out of control last time and blew up in his face, Dolson was always going to keep things tight this time around. It isn’t an indication of any specific hire, only that he was professionally embarrassed last time.

I’ve been vocal about not wanting Brownell, as have most, but if he makes at least the Sweet16 this year, doesn’t that soften your stance on him a little or won’t change? Piggyback, if he makes an Elite 8 or Final 4, does that help?

If Brownell makes the FF the entire tone of this thread will change to “Dolson is an idiot for not locking up such a coaching genius when he could have!” Lol

Most of the "insiders" love the attention and the likes they receive.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Why would anyone with inside information post it on a message board?  They love feeling important and love how everyone holds on to their every word or post.

I don’t think that’s true of all of them. Clearly, there are some who love attention and post in a way to get reactions. But I believe some are just passing along what they are hearing and some people take it as gospel.

I once had inside information and I posted it on a message board. It was back when Mike Davis got fired. I was sitting in Panera in Bloomington and two of Davis' assistants were at the table behind me. Davis still had his job, but they were talking about needing to search for jobs. I thought that was interesting and I posted it on Peegs, but nobody believed me.
