It’s literally the AD’s job to attract coaches. He has a ton of positives to sell to candidates. If the best that he can attract to IU is a D2 coach with 1 year under his belt in a mediocre mid major conference, that says a lot about his abilities. He doesn’t get any excuses this time around.
People on here may love mccollum but if that's honestly the best he can do count me as not impressed with dolson. Especially with all we have to offer.

Winning cures everything. He wins and I could care less how he does it. As long as he wins. Pretty simple.

Good luck

Yall - Dolson hasn’t kept this quiet the whole time for Goodman to break it. Cmon.

Agree with this. I have no insider contacts, but if I did and they have gone quiet, I wouldn’t look at it as bad and I would disregard any speculation on social media. I’m not saying it won’t be McCollum. I do think that anyone reporting he is a front runner on social media is basing it on……other social media.

He can sell as much as he wants. Brad Stevens was never coming here. National guys that are actually plugged in have said other P5 guys don’t want it. You can’t force people to want the job. If the young gun who wins everywhere he goes and who other coaches turn to for advice on the basketball court wants the job I’m gonna support the hell out of him.

What if Dolson thinks he’s the best coach?

I’m not sure it’s Dolson fault. Maybe they turned him down so he’s going for the buy low sell high candidate based on comments from many of his peers as well as his results.

How long does it typically take players to learn McCollum's system? He wins a lot but he's mostly been at one school so he would've had an established system and probably just typical turnover. This year his team starts a bunch of seniors who followed him from D2. So does anyone here know if he typically plays upperclassmen who have been with him for a while and learned the system or is it a mix that includes underclassmen?

At the P5 level, it would be very hard to get a bunch of talented recruits to come in and ride the bench for a year or two if it takes time to learn. Even 3* players.
