About 36% from 3 and around 70% from the stripe, better than I recalled but nothing to write home about especially from the line; his first season was one of his better shooting teams. Quote

Somebody posted last year that a high percentage of IU games with Archie Miller have been blowout losses. Does anybody have that stat? It's ridiculous. I can't believe people can accept this again and again and again. He's the worst coach IU has ever had. That was me. I did a look at 3 years under Archie the point spread of our losses and it was staggering. I don’t have those stats handy but it was something like our losses were by an avg of 10 points and 1/3 of all of our games played were losses by 10 or more points and a staggering number by 20+ points Josh 1 Quote

I can think of a couple coaches I wouldn't trade him for; not really a compliment to him but more of how little I think of the others. Quote

Aaron Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Good news: Stanford just had a bruising hard fought loss to UNC so hopefully they will be tired tomorrow and are the weaker talent of the two. IU should have plenty of energy after today's no show so hopefully the game between the Hoosiers and Cardinal sees better things. JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

After the way they played yesterday if there are any other excuses, it better end with our effort was awful after we couldn’t get anything going early on. Defensively they were really good for most of the first half and then just gave up. That’s on the coaching staff. That’s on the players. Show up tomorrow like you didn’t hang out at the socially distant strip club until 3 am pretty please. Maybe they need to hang out at the socially distant strip club until 3 am.... mdn82 1 Quote

NashvilleHoosier Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 This was probably the most discouraging loss of Archie's tenure for me. I was willing to overlook some things in the first 3 years b/c I still felt there was overall progress from year to year. I'm still not willing to bail after one game alone, but it was extremely concerning to see an overall effort like this already. Trayce looks terrible, slow, and weak, and we haven't shown a single ounce of improved shooting, even in a really solid win yesterday. Hopefully there was some serious soul searching in the locker room b/c we have only one choice at this point which is to come out with a spirited response, and win, tomorrow. Going 2-1 in this tourney will be fine. Another clunker tomorrow and things could spiral. JaybobHoosier and Deserthoozier 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Most often talent trumps less talent. It generally does. But not always, see Kentucky. Davidson played Texas much better than us with lesser talent than we have. They looked like a team with a purpose and game plan. I have no idea what Indiana was doing today. No purpose, no game plan, no confidence. Really pathetic effort across the board.I always fall back to recruiting because talent usually wins. Archie isn’t a basketball strategist savant. His strength is getting guys to play hard and tough, which most Crean players are allergic to. But these are Archies guys now and they aren’t playing to his strengths. Another flawed roster. We go 3 guard sets with guys that can’t shoot and now we can’t rebound either. Go big with guys who can’t shoot and the lane is clogged. We were never going to out athlete Texas. There goes your 20 point blowout. If I wasn’t already in the dumps about Archies recruiting, the product on the court put me there to stay. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners With the three guards - why not try and force the tempo. Saw a little against Providence and Tenn Tech but nothing today. Not sure how much of that was Texas and how much was us just getting in our own way. This has been bad shooting still and I fear things only get worse when Brunk returns as the lane will be even more clogged. TJD and Brunk on the floor together gives me nightmares from last season and sadly TJD doesn’t look improved enough for that rotation to work in my eyes this season. I’m still hopeful for improvement as we play 3 freshman regularly but this looks more of the same from the past few years. Not seeing much change in the offensive game plan, but it’s early GaryP 1 Quote
NRT137 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 So what we lost by 22. Texas is probably better than what they’re currently ranked. And we had Brunk out. However, we need to play Galloway more and Lander less. Lander doesn’t play defense and can’t make any shots. He’s too inconsistent to be a 5 star recruit. At least we play again tomorrow. Even if we frequently lose it’s still fun to tune in. Quote
Trish Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 11-46 from the field. 20-29 from the line. 2-10 from 3. You can't tell me we're not getting clean looks. We have an offense, we're moving without the basketball more. But the amount of bunnies we missed today was BAD. Our players have to play better and make the shots, that's the bottom line. Texas is good. We played a cupcake, a below average Providence team, and FINALLY a good team. 3rd game of the year folks. 3RD GAME. Third Game. Let's relax. We're a team made up of underclassmen and one really good forward (Who happens to be an underclassmen). jk34, HoosierDYT, pappy1865 and 2 others 5 Quote

I'm not sure how much more you are going to see Galloway play than that. IMO, Lander's going to have to play minutes. Only way he improves and it's not like we have any natural point guard after Rob.
