Outside shooting has become such a detriment to this team. Hard to keep a defense honest and not packing it in if we can't knock down anything from outside. We have got to look for a shooter to come in next year even if it means letting someone know that there may be no PT available for them going forward beyond this season. I hate seeing this done, but we can't wait until the 20'21 class to find someone.

Yep and if it's a fifth year guy, there'd better be a sharpshooter coming in '20.

Last thing I’ll say..I’d be more interested to see Jager play than McBob at this point. He has looked out of sorts all season long, injuries or not. I appreciate his hustle, but his defense hasn’t been the same, and he hurts the offense more than he helps (and he doesn’t help at all)

Looks like he has lost muscle and athleticism too

Slow starts and injuries have already been adequately addressed, so...

McBob has to at least look at the rim, angle some body language toward the basket, shot fake, or for Heaven's sake take a shot when he's open. Any one of those things. With his defense taking a step back this season we can't afford him making us a 4 on 5 team every possession. If that's how he's going to play then he's going to see himself do that in a more limited role. The future of the program needs experience (except most of them are currently broken).

The team still shows promise in a shorthanded state. Moreover, this game gives promise in the direction of the program and the seasons to come. This game was about coaching, in game adjustments, and personnel management. Teams are fluid and different year to year. The man coaching them is the constant. Give him a full arsenal of personally scouted talent and coachability....Things continue to look up.

We were really short handed so I am satisfied with this outcome. We didn’t give up, but we’re outmatched without more post players. I can’t ever remember seeing a hook utilized by a point guard so effectively. On to the next game and hope we get healthier soon.

I really hate to lose, can’t stand it. But I agree with you. I’m satisfied, we could’ve mailed it in early. Still without a 1/3 of our rotation, starting PG, on the road vs a top 5, AND JuMo and Romeo pickup 2 quickies. We were so close a few times late and just couldn’t knock down that 3 and pickup that charge call on the other end.
I’m not blaming the refs for our loss but man they sucked today. Yes, I know UM was called for 2 more fouls in this game. But it was the ones they called or didn’t call that really got me

I dont care what we did in the second half or how many points Morgan scored. We lost the game in the first 10 minutes. Wont beat many B1G teams on the road with these kind of starts.

It’s the 8th game in a row we started slowly but you should not bring it up as many posters are disappointed to read such negative comments.  Instead, please note how nice our uniforms look in HD and that Tim Garls tie makes his eyes shimmer.

Positives:

7 turnovers.  +3 rebounding.  Fans complained for years about our inability to get the ball into the post.  We went there relentlessly in the second half today.  Hung in a game where we outmanned on the road against a top 5 team that was lights out in the first 10 minutes.

Negatives:

Still need a third scorer. Bench scoring is nonexistent.  Slow start.

Food for thought:  Michigan played very well at home and won by 11.  They had 3.....3.....turnovers.  I would argue they should have had a few more (couple of charge calls not made as well as a couple of travels) but overall I thought the refs were okay today -- nothing out of the ordinary on the road.
