Yeah I know. This is more of an IU thing. They just never have for these types of scrimmages and get crappy with anyone leaking this info. Usually they are fine if it’s behind a pay wall and not out for public consumption easily. It’s why I am really surprised Bozich posted Romeo’s line. They come down harder on those types of media that are directly involved with a newspaper or radio. IUs thing has always been threatening the Bozich types of the world with taking away their press pass. They can’t really do that with the Indianapolis Star. If that makes sense.

Doesn't add a lot more to what we've already heard but I really like the comment about Justin Smith.

Very few details have come out of the session, which was closed to the public and media.  Based on what we have seen reported on social media and through other sources, here are a few unverified details from the scrimmage.

• Multiple accounts have reported that Indiana won the scrimmage by a score of 70-48.
• Indiana’s length was reportedly a major factor on both ends of the floor, and especially on the defensive end.
  • Loyola isn’t a particularly long team, so this isn’t altogether surprising, but this note along with the score does seem to highlight that IU may be ahead of where they were last year in implementing Archie Miller’s defensive principles.
• Frank Ward (Frankie Vision) put out a statement on social media (that was later deleted) that Romeo Langford scored 19 points and added 10 rebounds.
• Justin Smith was apparently a dominant factor on the offensive glass.
• Multiple people we spoke with said that Juwan Morgan was “the best player on the floor.”

I am not sure it will come out, but I am hungry to see the starting lineup, personnel combinations and minutes played.  The early season rotation that Archie employs will absolutely be worth monitoring.

Love hearing Juwan "was best player on the floor" not totally surprised but given Romeo's supposed stat line that says something. I have a feeling Juwan will cement himself as one of my top 5 IU players of all time this season. He's already high and has been since the toughness and team mentality he showed during his FR year.

10 boards from a guard like Romeo in a CAM system doesn't surprise me one bit.  I think I remember something from last year where he said he wants to see something like 7 boards a game from the guards?

Thanks for sharing Chris. This is what I figured Archie's small ball lineup would look like. I figure Fitzner gets the nod over McRoberts or Smith if he wants to go big. I'm pretty sure those five along with Fitzner get the lionshare of minutes.

The lineups where shooting improvement will l be really critical are Davis/Morgan combos

I really don't want mcroberts starting, unless he has made a big leap on offense. He was great for a team like last year's but we have too much talent for him to be starting this year, imo.

He was the catalyst in more than a couple wins last season without much offense at all. Right place, right time, plus he's a steadying force. Not going to make too many bad plays in crunch time.
