Great addition and one that IU really needed.

Love his game. Will be a key player on a lot of good IU teams in his career.

Get basketball players.  Kids who understand the game and the sport.  Get old.  Stay old.  Recruit from the inside out.   Be opportunistic.  Guard people.  Play with absolute passion and like you know where you are.  Get and make good shots.   That is indeed the formula at Indiana.  I've said it before..I saw growth last season, both in players and in Coach Miller.      

My hope?  People don't expect Galloway to come in and be great as a freshman.  We'll have kids who are, but I want LOTS of kids who will be great as juniors and seniors to mix with the impact freshmen, and that's where Galloway fits for me.

After reading my answer in context with the post I quoted, perhaps I should have explained myself better. I meant his release point wasn't very good but he was able to produce even without changing it

Cool article USPS. His dad sees what I saw with his form it sounds like. 58% FT won’t cut it. His dad is right. I think they’ll fix it. Either way, sometimes you don’t mess with form, let the kids natural ability and practice figure it out.

You can have a low release point as long as your release is quick. Galloway appears to be able to put it up quick enough to offset the low release. That said, the numbers make me think his shot needs some work.

Regardless, this is probably my favorite player in the state from 2020 and the one I was really hoping we’d get. I think we got a diamond in the rough. Not an immediate impact player but a guy that’s good for the culture and could develop into a very good player. I really like his ability to finish around the rim and through contact.

Yep. At a place like Indiana there is so much to sell and so much that can go right.  We build our brand back and keep getting quality recruits who help sell the joint, culture comes back in a hurry.  This is where Tom Crean missed the boat in my mind.  As many good things as he did recruiting, he didn't build the culture like he could have with some of the players who could and I think would have helped him.  But when you - for example, avoid Trevon Blueitt because you say you have Stanford Robinson (that happened), there's a problem.

Galloway is at least the 3rd kid I know of who's expressed significant interest in re-building the culture at Indiana.
