Remember all those years when we got excited hoping to crack the top 25?

I think we got less wins cumulatively in my time on campus than we had last year. I was always hoping for four cupcake non conf wins and two B1G for a bowl invite. If you would have told me we had seasons in a row where we expected to be preseason top 25, I’d have sworn we had the second coming of Knute Rockne on our sidelines.

Saw somewhere that little factoid is true for 75% of 4 year IU grads.

Your post made me look up my undergrad years and I was surprised to see that Lee Corso won 19 (8 were in one season) while I was there.  I looked at the seasons a little more carefully and the out of conference games would be considered absolutely nuts these days. Examples:

@Nebraska, Utah, @NC State

LSU, Miami of Ohio, @ Nebraska (what was the AD thinking ?)

1978 - @LSU (#13), Washington (#15, we beat them!), Nebraska (#12, we held them to 69). THREE games against top 15 teams prior to the conference games starting !!!

The AD was focused on IUBB first and foremost but this kind of makes sense if you think about it. It's a great recruiting sell and Corso was "turning the corner" by 1976. It was his 4th season with his recruits on the field and it looks like it might have worked because the following year in 79 we got 8 wins!

Couldn’t Wyatt and Daley get an injunction from a different state to protect them in case Colorado is overturned.

Prob so but i dont see in anyway this gets reversed especially once kids are already in the program

That’s why I said I’m sure they can get another injunction. IF the NCAA were to win

And Kellan Wyatt is back, best defense in IU history?

CollegeSports

Possibly the best defense, so far.

I completely see how programs like Alabama, Ohio State, etc. get mad when they don’t win 11+ games and compete for national championships. Anything less than playoff appearances every year will be disappointing to me as I’ve gotten greedy. I don’t feel too bad having that expectation, though, because I know Coach Cig and everyone else in the organization feel the exact same way.

The dline is so stacked and the depth is crazy.

Wyatt, Daley, Obiazor, Osusanmi, Ndukwe, Burnham; there's going to be some competition in that room.

Our returning production on DL is now technically 115% lol.  Almost every key guy plus xfers I guess can get a team over 100%.

Don’t be surprised if Wyatt plays some linebacker. He had 3 yrs of LB play at Maryland.

I was wondering about that. It'd give us some help at LB.
