  1. This should go without saying obviously, but there will be no press conference tomorrow. I’ll be able to take the lid off a bit later in the week. But will say this, anybody providing details right now either doesn’t know anything or doesn’t know what’s good for them. Dolson has given very strict orders. Regional media has zero intel on this. Won’t stop them from fishing for clicks. Nothing tomorrow though. Not sure where that started. Carry on.

  2. So I couldn’t get much from him unfortunately. But, to me that’s a good thing. There’s been pretty much zero chatter, nor leaks for a month about coaches. He said it doesn’t matter that the season is still going on, he would still hear of legitimate names. And he hasn’t. I asked him if the “5 min zoom call” was legitimate. He laughed and said no. No one at brads status would only give 5 min of time. That’s disrespectful. I also asked if he heard the $100 million number and if there was a verbal agreement (which came from the IU sources via Chris, Yeagley, etc). He hadn’t heard that but he did confidently say Brad turned down a 7 year 70 million offer last time. I asked if I should trust the IU sources from a weeks ago, and he said at this point I could, because it’s eerily quiet on his end. He thinks Dolson has known for months who the next coach will be. That’s all I’ve got.

  4. A small Kenny Johnson story: I lived in Louisville for med school while he was getting fired by Pitino and caught in the scandal. I was behind him in line at an BBQ place and introduced myself, thanked him for his time at IU. He asked me to come with him to his car as he took his food out to go and had a trunk full of boxes as he was literally cleaning out his office. Handed me three different autographed pictures of Victor Oladipo and shook my hand. Gave one to my Grandpa and have two downstairs hanging in my man cave. Love this hire. He’s a great dude.

  7. I said this afternoon. It’s 2pm my time. And for those who think I’m full of ****, I told Chris via PM a few weeks ago who my biggest “national” connection is. He’s an AP voter out east. Do you want me to share or not? Chill out.

  9. Good things. Should be able to go into details tomorrow or maybe Monday. I know this search has been exhausting for all, it’s almost over

  10. Good evening all,' It's been quite some time.. As I've garnered some recent inside information, I wanted to share the knowledge with the BTB family. As most of you know, I've held a close relationship with Coach Woodson over the last 4 years; be it our Saturday iHop visits, golfing, and sharing coacoa at my log cabin residence.. it pains me to see him go.. With that being said, he has let me in on the likely candidates for the position. From the words of Scott Dolson, "Archie Miller is the answer." Dolson doesn't believe we gave Miller the time that he needed to bring this program back to glory, and believes that Scott Drew's recent testacle surgery would make him a liability. While I do believe that Archie has this job locked up, my personal co-sign for the job goes to Andrew Toole, head coach of the Robert Morris University Colonials. Has he shown success? No. Does he have any type of proven track record? No, he doesn't. What he does have, is an absolute smokeshow of a wife; I mean an absolute rocket, which leads me to believe that Toole has a shaft like a Subway Cold Cut.. This is the type of energy we need to see within this program.. Do we truly believe Coach Knight wasn't packing an absolute lantern between his limbs? 12. I don't want to create arguments, call out sources, or even worse, reveal sources, but I'll say, @Chris007 is way more tuned in than some give him credit for. After reading some of the recent updates, and seeing how this is playing out, I can confirm the guy has been pretty spot on in all of this. We've shared some private messages, and he knows his stuff. We should be thankful to have him, and many others, sharing their info here.

  13. I mean…Dakich has a point and this would explain why the student body didn’t really like this team (at least that’s what I’ve heard) maybe others can speak about that.

  16. I’m very excited for this hire. I think he has a chance to be really good. He lives, breaths and sleeps basketball. Plays an exciting style and will be able to recruit elite players. He seems like a dude. I think he’ll be known as D square to me. Go Hoosiers.

  21. I try to ask all of those things, you just don't get a lot of answers or things being confirmed. You hear a lot of answers but nothing you can go fact-check if you know what I mean. I will say I have heard 10 years 92 million, I have heard 6 years 67 million, I have heard 8 years 88 million. I have heard they bought a house in the Center Grove district so their daughter could be a part of the girl's soccer team there which I believe was ranked #1, He has a former player who works there so there is some familiarity. That he and Dolson met from Thanksgiving to February figuring out how they wanted to do this and keep it quiet till mid-March. I have many other things but not worth going through them all Is any of it true who knows? But I do know one person who is connected and he hasn't come back on. Have I been wrong? Yes, a lot in the last 10 years. But do I hope Dolson can pull off the grand slam? Yes, which probably clouds my judgment.

  22. I will say that many people heard that there was a signing yesterday. Several people heard it was it was a home run. Meaning not Brownell or McCollum. Was told they could announce it as early as Monday if iwe don’t make the tournament. I don’t think would happen if it was a current coach. Can a current coach sign a contract? I’m done for the day. Go Hoosiers!! Who am I kidding I’ll be back later.

  24. Yes because he’s not getting this job.

  25. I love it. Dolson gets fans to lower expectations for McCollum then hits them with the hammer. Such a big time move. Remember last time Goodman said Holtman was almost a done deal.

  26. As someone very connected told me last week, Be careful of people talking because they don't know anything, if they do know something then they wouldn't be talking if they knew what was good for them due to the NDA's. I remember you getting in some trouble for talking last time. I appreciate you feeling bad for some people. If I'm wrong I'll be here next week to take the heat. If you are right or wrong we won't see you again till the next search. BS is 1A BM is 1B I'll stick to it.

  27. All you needed to take from that spaces was they all agreed Dolson has a small circle and Scott isn’t talking about his plan with many. Which takes me back to how glad I am this coach search has almost 0 leaks. No one knows who Dolson has at the top of his list and I find it awesome that know one has a clue. Greatest search ever in my opinion. Let Dolson do his job and IU will have a really good college basketball coach at the end of this

  28. Alec Lasley - Lamar Wilkerson says Indiana head coach Darian DeVries flew out today to see him: "“I wanted to be a priority, and Indiana made me feel like a priority”. Absolutely refreshing effort from our head coach to close the deal.

  29. This is why I keep saying this is the best search I have ever been around. Today I have had two people tell me it's Collins Another buddy sent me McDermott done deal, I also got a McCollum done deal I got a not Stevens but someone just as big Last night was told the hire has been made since March 1st Spoke to an agent who said that Drew and May couldn't get an interview because Dolson already had his guy at the end of Feb. I love this but ready for it to be over.

  30. I agree with some that nothing has changed on my end and that there has been a deal for the big dog for a while but if it goes south then McCollum is the backup plan.

  31. I will be off here today spending the day with my family. I’m sorry if I don’t get back to everyone. Dolson has hit a home run or grand slam whatever you want to call it.

  35. Who is sitting behind the ND bench? He has been to two games in the last two weeks but could only make one in the first 30 games. Anyway, everything I have posted that I have heard today I could name 6 or 7 other people on here who have heard it too. I won't so they don't take the heat I do but they send me their rumors. Yes, it could be the echo chamber of IU but I know I don't have the same sources as RTZ and a few others. So yes we could be wrong but there is a reason we think what we do. I owned it 4 years ago, just like I will again. I have even said I don't believe it fully myself.

  40. Big wink update. First, I haven’t been given “everything,” just a “big wink” in response to the appropriate big wink questions from the big wink contact who makes big wink financial contributions who would not pony up big wink money without first getting his own big wink from a big wink financier that a big wink contract would only be going to a big wink hire. Here you go… The first name of our next coach begins with B. The last name of our next coach does not begin with B. See you all in a few weeks and enjoy the tournament!

  41. Gotta love the people who show up every day, practically foaming at the mouth, just waiting for someone to be wrong—dragging the rest of us down into their miserable little vortex. But the second someone brings any positivity to the board, they’re immediately labeled a troll and have their sources questioned—ironically, by the same people who have absolutely zero real connection to the program whatsoever. Yet, if someone posts something negative, they take it as gospel and wallow in the misery like it’s their life’s purpose. If they actually want to make a real change, they should get off their lazy ***** and donate to the NIL fund, support the basketball program, and give back to the university. Do something that actually matters instead of being a mood-killing, negativity-obsessed Nancy on a free message board.

  43. As a preacher I would love for our next coach to genuinely love Jesus in such a way that he does NOT have to preach sermons to his team or demand they go to church with him, but RATHER that they see he walks with integrity, class, and respect… that he treats everyone (from the 5star recruit to the water boy) with compassion and kindness. That he has a reputation for looking out for the good of others BUT also works hard and is willing to model self-sacrifice for the benefit of others. A saint once said, “Preach the word and when necessary use words.” It’s true we are hiring a coach, but there’s also more to life than basketball. So, I’d like a coach who will model the kind of values that make the world a better place.
