  1. Would be curious if Sherrell’s deal is also 2 years or whether he’s planning to go to the League next year.

  2. I can understand Alberto wanting to move on. That's a ton of pressure the year after a Mendoza led your team to a National Championship and won the Heisman. Tough act to follow right away.

  4. Since all of these kids they’ve signed have multiple years of eligibility I assume that would have been the plan and, if so, love it. The 1 exception might be Harris if he looked at this as an opportunity to rebuild his market value. But even so, if he has a really nice year you’ve got the first shot to retain him. Man, it would be so cool if after a nice year next year all they lost was, say, Sherrell to the NBA, 1 of the current freshman to the portal and maybe 2 of the crack fillers they haven’t signed yet to graduation and with maybe a 3 man ‘27 class signed you’re only looking at a couple of spots with no glaring, “God, we’ve got to find that” type of needs. Wow, that sounds like an actual program. Or, they may have decided that PG, and Burton specifically, was that important and he was treated differently. We’ll see.

  5. Indiana transfer Jason Drake has signed with Temple. The 6-foot-1 guard out of Oak Park, Michigan spent one season at Indiana, but did not appear in a game due to injury. Has also spent time at Cleveland State and Drexel. He averaged 11.1PPG, 3.1APG and 3.0RPG for Drexel in 2024-25. Shot nearly 40% from 3.

  6. He just wants to play. He was telling people before last season started that he was going to transfer if his brother stayed for a second year. So there is no way he was going to stay to back up somebody else.

My dad had heard we offered him a million to be our backup, I'd say that's some serious respect. Absolutely understand AM moving on, though... I'd say GT is my 2nd favorite team while he's there.

  8. Dear Lord I want him to crush it down there this year then transfer back here in the worst way possible.

  9. No idea, but I think he might be a pretty tough pull. Watching his games he’s talented and I’d take him happily as a long term piece. But he’d probably be the 4th big in a bit of niche role next year, he’s not ready for 20 mins every night as the 1st big off the bench on a team that’s really good, and when an LSU has literally no roster and he can probably start there and be paid as a starter and a Seton Hall lost both their bigs it’s hard for me to picture this being perceived by him as his best option even if long-term it probably would be.

An important reason why in the current state of affairs college football is so much better. Football players still get NIL, but there is little/no potential for professional 24 year olds joining the fray.

  11. I think they try to do 2 year deals and there are stipulations if the second year doesn’t happen. Don’t know for sure though.

Hadn’t thought about it quite like that. Can you imagine what Doncic would have done to East Bumphrey Nowehere St in some buy game in November?
    2 points
  15. Guess it depends on the prospect. Luka Doncic played pro ball at 17 and was league MVP at 18. Wemby was similar but not quite as advanced, iirc. If this kid is on that level, he’ll somewhere between all-American and dominate even at 17. As much as I hate the older euros coming in, this is the cool part of NIL, imo. It would’ve been awesome to watch Luka dominate college ball for 2 years—especially if he were in an IU jersey!

  17. This has been my take all along. If the money is right, you can get who you want, to a certain degree.

  18. He won't be eligible for the NBA draft next year so seems like he's on a 2-year plan at least with Duke. UNC was also in on this kid and they just got Keita. UNC is going after Momo Faye too. Pretty wild stuff.

  22. Looks like Flores gave Mendoza permission to wear his #15 although others have worn it, but Mendoza asked if he could wear it. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/fernando-mendoza-will-wear-no-15-with-the-blessing-of-tom-flores “He’s perfect,” Flores said of Mendoza. “He can make every throw. He can make the plays. What can’t he do? He does it all. He’s fun to watch. . . . Plus, he’s a good-looking kid. Like me.”

  25. UConn is 9 deep now and their fans are currently arguing about whether they just need a back up 4 or if they should try to get Luigi Suigo (a few rumors they're trying to get involved, not much credible though). Some don't want to risk Hines or Giltay leaving. Most recognize that you need to stack as much talent as possible in this environment. They're jealous of the money UM and Duke are spending. The One Vision Futures Fund seems to be Duke's NIL differentiator. An interesting topic to look into if you're feeling morbidly curious about the direction of travel for college sports.

  26. Duke is unbelievably loaded this year. An absolute crazy roster. I don’t see how a lot of these guys get the minutes they expect. But they’ll be well compensated. And I guess that’s enough. Incredible depth.

  27. So does anyone know if we are actually getting a visit from Ladarius Givan? And if so when? Would really like to get this kid on board. Would provide rebounding. energy, and rim protection off the bench.

At IMG he was maybe their 10th guy and every time he entered the game against any team that wasn’t just cannon fodder for them they went 2-3 because he couldn’t defend any kind of movement at all. And he only played a couple of minutes because he’d gas out. God, what those UF bigs would have done to him in practice must’ve been brutal.

Agree except for the “for sure dominate” part. He’s never dominated at any level and he has major stamina problems.

Can’t think of a smarmier pair off the top my head. Not even close, really. And then for the sprinkles on top of that sundae throw in Kim Mulkey, who along with being awful is pretty clearly nuts and they’ve cornered the market on coaches to be ashamed of.

  36. I would see a definite need to split the bigs then. Graves at his best is with a big that isn't clogging the paint on offense. His game is similar to Deni Advijas. Sherrel and Graves would be exceptional. Then back those two up with Turk and Sisley. That would be pretty incredible. Still the question would be, of the plethora of wings we have, will one be "the dude." If given the fantasy choice between Graves and Momcilovic, I'd have to go Momcilovic.

  39. It’s just another pro league for the Euros. They play with younger guys all the time. I keep harping on it, but 1) the schools should ditch the NCAA and 2) keep any new rules they make with a strong focus on being paired with the traditional American path of universities being pre job market training intuitions of 19-22 year olds. This is a tragedy of the commons situation where if you let the individual teams bring over 25yr old euros/current pros they will, but it is better off for everyone long term if nobody does.

  40. Boston College transfer Fred Payne has committed to Oregon. The 6-foot-1 guard out of Grambling, Louisiana spent three seasons at Boston College, redshirting one. He averaged 15.8PPG, 4.2RPG, 2.7APG and 1.1SPG in 2025-26.

  43. The picture of the FanDuel app on Marsh's phone wasn't necessarily proof of anything, but I would be shocked if the above didn't happen as soon as that picture circulated. Cig and the IUAD are wayyyy too buttoned up to not nip that as soon as it popped up.
