  1. Here's to hoping IU football wins their first national championship, before PU basketball wins their first national championship. Icing on the cake

  2. I took a pretty long break from social media, including the board...but I couldn't stay away and not see what my fellow BTB diehards are saying... Just an unbelievable win...got to experience it with my family, shed tears...will remember it forever. Build Cig a statue but also...give Haines a billion dollars a year and a promise that the keys are his when Cig retires. Let's win a rose bowl, keep marching and bring a natty back to Bloomington!

  3. GAs had the OU/Bama scouting reports done and on Cig’s/Haines’/Shanny’s desks before the sun rose this morning. They’ll do deep dives on both teams the next two weeks, be ready for either, THEN get a full 10 days of prep for the winner with a fresh game of tape in what should be a really competitive matchup on the 19th. It would be annoying if we didn’t have over 3 weeks to prep, but it’s not a concern imo.

  6. I have a friend who is an OSU fan. I always send a congratulatory message after big wins for them. From him after this game? Crickets.

  7. Purdue ain’t winning one ever. oh another fun fact. Only two teams scored multiple offensive TDs on us this year. Old Dominion from our “soft” out of conference schedule and Penn State one with the help of a great block by an official.

  10. Love the Haines idea but there are problems. 1) Cig has enough energy and desire to kick @$$ that he may coach til 80 (on board with that btw). 2) Even if Haines leaves and he wants the IU job some day he could most likely still come back and get it. 3) He's way too good to remain as a coordinator for that long. Appreciate him while he's still here On a bright note I have full trust in Cig's ability to evaluate people and make a great replacement hire if/ when that time comes.

  11. Didn't Ristic play a few minutes against the Gophers? I thought I saw a #13 out there and had to Google the number to see who it was.

  12. Would be pretty storybook for Cig to take down Bama, where he played such a key part in getting Saban's early teams there put together.

  14. The Dipo abides. 46% (plus 1/1 on 4th down) vs 33% (0/1 on 4th down). TOP was dead even, total yards dead even, first downs dead even, turnover battle dead even. We won 3rd downs, we won the game.

  17. Not enough info for me to come to any conclusion on how this season is going to go yet. Eye test shows me they won’t be an upper level nationally in the first year. Eye test shows me they won’t get a chance to go 18-2 in their conference like some did last year because of a weak conference and weak conference schedule. All I know this year is in a neutral court game against a top 6 team they lost. They didn’t take advantage of a Q1a game. I also know they lost on the road to a team they probably should have beat but I’ve seen better teams than this Indiana team lose over there. Law of averages tells you a program winning 9 straight against another team is probably going to go the other way sooner rather then later. Unfortunately for IU the 2 high major non conference wins they have are not looking as strong as most thought. Those teams have all year to figure it out to makes those wins look better. IU is going to have a ton of chances to figure some things out and will have plenty of resume building chances. When they start losing homes games to teams they shouldn’t then I will worry about this year. For me they still have a chance to be a tourney team that’s solidly in the field. As far as being one of the best teams in the sports this year in my opinion no they won’t be that however I never thought they would be this year

  19. I doubt the committee will do the right thing, but my five? Mendoza Fisher Ponds Carter Smith Stephen Daley Or, if they don't want to make it the five that deserve it most, the committee should go with college football's most-interesting: Mendoza OSU's Fielding, he of the 27 yard hooked FG Pavia's mother The ND bowl game MVP Purdue's Browne, for my absolute favorite non-IUFB play of the season, against Rutger:

  22. How is this for insightful….We really, really, really need to win this game. Going 0-2 against Minnesota and at home vs PSU would be less than optimal. Tony Adragna did a video breakdown after the Marquette game (I think it was Marquette) and IU’s ball movement, movement on the perimeter, cuts, screens with purpose etc was a beautiful thing to watch. Would love to see that offensive play and great effort from the tip-off.

  23. And 2 of the 5? On 3rd down. The type of defensive performance that needs to have everyone beating the drum for IU to be the favorites. We won’t play a better offense than that the rest of the way.

  24. One thing that I think is a little screwed up is Georgia and Texas Tech do get one slight advantage over IU and OSU. In that realistically Georgia and TT are already preparing for ole miss and Oregon. If an upset happens somehow I am sure the teams will pivot. IU and OSU are much less confident in our opponents

  26. Kind of depends on what you think of Ole Miss. there’s a good argument they shouldn’t be in the tourney but otoh had they might be the most talented first round team. I like our draw. If those teams weren’t named Alabama and Oklahoma people would see two flawed teams and ones that might not have made it. I might’ve preferred Miami in there but we avoided A&M which I think is a win. They have a talented roster, imo.

  28. If you think about it for awhile, do we really need a Birmingham Bowl? A few of these games that play at 2:30 on a Tuesday in a Walmart parking lot really need to go.

  30. Predictable, maybe. Avoidable…nobody knows. I’m not sure what else was out there at what price on what timeline. I know both Mc Neely and Conwell were guys I liked watching last year, obvious high major talents, and in the portal. It’s frustrating to see them both go to Lville and then torch us. But I haven’t a clue if IU had a shot with either. Iirc, Woody might’ve screwed the Conwell thing up. We’ve still got a roster that can compete. Iowa at MSU the other night looked every bit the part of D2 guys playing against the big boys. Outside of MSU, UM, and Illinois nobody in the conference is going to out match us so much physically or athletically to make winning impossible.

  31. They need to get back to moving without the ball and sharing it. Last couple games, there has been way too much dribbling. Need to get better defense rebounding. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

  34. Clickbait. Meyer also said: “This is the greatest turnaround in the history of our sport. It’s not even close,” Meyer said on the field to the FOX television audience as the Hoosiers celebrated their victory behind him. “This is the best coaching job I’ve seen, certainly, in my life – and I think in the history of the sport.”

  39. IU alum (decades before Kelly School of business was Kelly ..LOL) that 100% believed Cig had dramatically raised our floor but after years of football failure I still held onto a little “brand bias” when it came to our ceiling. Could we really compete with the “big dogs”? Cig essentially said “stick it where the sun don’t shine” and goes out and wins at Oregon and beats OSU (not to mention IL, at Iowa etc). There is NO DOUBT, especially with our defense, that we can beat ANYONE. Never thought I would live to see this.
