The Penn State game was a big rating TV rating: 6M viewers. That's around the 25th most watched game so far this season. Doing some (very) rough math on our total regular season TV viewership: 2023: ~11M (pre-Cig) 2024: ~20M 2025: ~30M (estimating the last two games) What a difference. The post-season game ratings (including the conference championships) are huge. For example, IU-ND last year was 13.5M viewers. With our postseason picture still TBD, I'll hold off on speculating about that part of the TV ratings. Anyways, fantastic stuff for IUFB and IU.

During the Marquette game Lamar made a reverse layup high off the glass and fell to the court....he spotted the camera, while sitting on the floor, and mugged for it with a grin! I knew right then watching Lamar this season was going to be a lot of fun!

I feel like he’ll get a couple of minutes tonight. Marquette was certainly not an appropriate 1st game and now 3 consecutive games that you can ease him in and knock off some rust and figure a little bit out before K-State.

Can I remind people this team actually lost these same games last year to Harvard and Butler and figured it out? While Marshall is not quite as strong as these two, Moren teams have a tendency to correct issues and get better as year goes on. A season similar to last year seems reasonable as a back end tournament team. If the team can beat some of the better competition upcoming they are actually ahead of last year with close wins rather than bad losses in games two and three. What we can say is Spreen, Kiaku (which doesn't surprise me) are not good enough to play at this level and this will once again be the tight eight person rotation that is Moren's signature with Shay, Caffey, Z, and Lenee as starters with Valentina or Makalusky playing off the bench with the other starting along with Phoenix and Odessa. Also we might see Faith from time to time. This is a typical Moren squad and once it matures and adds the elite recruits program should be fine.

2 shining lamps in the ugly fog of a game

He didn't say they delayed it on purpose, but there was a delay that allowed them to watch the end. I was wondering if it had to do with the ATC or they did it to watch the game. "Darian DeVries said the team had a delay on the runway and got to see the end of the football game against Penn State on Saturday. They were taking off as the team won the game. He said the Wi-Fi went out as soon as the final pass fell incomplete."

We’re not used to watching freshman and sophomores actually play meaningful minutes. It’s going to take time for them to settle down and learn their roles. This game was just awful. The same mistakes were made over and over.

Reed is a senior. Harris is a sophomore. Harris will be injured until December IIRC and when he is back, he will be the 3rd big guy. Kinda doubt he plays many meaningful minutes this year, but maybe he makes the most of an opportunity. I could see him and Drake being candidates to be "Creaned" potentially. I think Dorn and Ristic are the most likely of the injured guys to play rotation minutes this year. Ristic maybe sparingly but we need a 3rd ball handler and I think Drake could also be out until December. Tough to carve out a role under those circumstances. We have 6 seniors. 2 HS commits. So minimum of 4 portal players if nobody transfers out. Need a starting C and a starting PG.

Even if it is intact Fernando will be under pressure all day. I think people are somehow underestimating how good OSU is. I hate that fan base and program with a passion that consumes my soul but they are the best team in CFB this year.

I thought Michigan looked pretty average-ish. Maybe their big gives us trouble in the paint. Man, I forgot Lville added Conwell and McNeely. They might actually have more shooting than us if their freshman gets hot. That’s going to be a tough game for sure. Illinois looks tough and physical and their guy down low is a load. We’ll need the pace to be up in these types of games.

I’m not in the sky is falling camp. That was a horrendously sloppy game, 28 TO’s. That’s not a norm it’s an outlier. Lots to clean up and part of that is the team learning to play fast. Yeah could be a year where 20 wins is the ceiling, but a 28 TO game is not the yardstick

Not sure where to drop this, but ESPN published another article on top-flip candidates in the '26 class, https://www.espn.com/college-football/recruiting/story/_/id/46916765/10-college-football-recruits-flip-schools-amid-coaching-uncertainty, with call outs for both Sieg & Mickens. TLDR, ESPN views Oklahoma as the current leader for Mickens and Notre Dame & Indiana in front for Sieg. Additionally they expect Sieg to announce around signing day in December.
