Family member just relayed some info on Romeo. Darius's decision will have an impact on Romeo that will only help whichever school he chooses being the are both in his top 3, but in no way is Romeo solely basing his decision off his. Said the family respects the crap out of the Garland family and have enjoyed talking with them on the visits, but Romeo knows he will only be somewhere for a short period of time. Winning is what matters almost as much as anything and this year records won't hold too much weight either. Instead they are focusing on what sets work in favor of Romeo's game and who will be coming and going for each school. Romeo would love to stay in state but that doesn't mean he will. Also said the signing in spring thing doesn't mean he won't announce before then.

You’re the man, Yog...thanks for sharing!

Yeah I liked Archie a lot watching him but if I’m honest my first choice was Bennett but the moment Archie got the job my full support went to Archie.

Yep, forgot about him. Honestly he was probably the top college pick for this board. I think Archie and Marshall were in the next tier.

In a completely non-weird way, I️ get super excited when certain posters post to this board, such as Yogi. I️ know I️ can skip most of the ‘who wanted what Coach’ page(s) and get to something about RL.

I guarantee that's what half of us do too.

Heck, half the time I just scroll down the page and only stop when I see a yellow heart next to someone's post indicating that it must be good news.  9 times out of 10 it's either Chris or Yogi haha.

Speaking of Chris, I hope he’s on either today or tomorrow. We haven’t seen him since he was hitting the alcohol Friday

Kentucky, UNC, Duke, and Kansas would have forked over enough dough to get an elite, proven coach. But IU went cheap. Donovan would have come here if the price were right.

Or they went with a guy who fit our culture and long term vision? Do even believe half of what you say?

I guess you haven't been reading this thread. Other posters were discussing the coaching search and I offered my two cents. Why don't you go after them.

Cause this was the first one that I saw. It doesn't matter who is posting it, or what their stance is. Point is this isn't really the appropriate place for that discussion. This thread is suppose to be about Romeo.

Appreciate it, I try to do what I can but with football season coming to a close and the signing period for December now I don't get as much time to focus on b ball recruiting as I would like.

I wanted Bennett as well, Archie didn't meet one of my criteria for a coach.

I like what Archie has been saying but gotta be honest if it takes more than 8 months to learn his system why are we recruiting one and dones.

He's only been able to teach his system for what 6 weeks? I don't think the team was able to practice in groups larger than 4 until mid-october.

Same amount of time he's going to have for 1 and dones.

It's so much more the skill, the want to, and BBIQ than the time.

This group of guys we have are vastly overrated. They want bomb threes but none of them are great 3 point shooters.

We need more natural scorers. More grit on D and then WaaLaa, we will win games.

That wasn't your comment. You said 8 months. It's always, always, always easier to plug 2-3 people into a group with experience than to try to get an inexperienced group to preform immediately.

He was hired 8 months ago. He's had 8 months to teach them the system. And he has on more than one occasion said the system takes 3 years to learn.
