That Orlando job is open again.

Donovan to the NBA wouldn't surprise me. Not much to challenge him anymore at his football school. If IU wants him, the administration should move quickly before he gets away.

Had half the team not been Creaned, we could have had 2 older wings! But no, let's stick with the freshman. Side note. Anyone know what Remy had to transfer?

I'd without a doubt take frosh Rojo/JBJ over Abel/AE/anyone that has transferred out of the program recently. Hell, I'd take Priller/April over Hollowell/Jurkin.

Of all the players that have been "creaned" recently, can you honestly say we'd be any better with them? Remy was a decent player, AE was too timid to shoot, Hollowell was one of the worst players I've seen wear an IU jersey, and Jurkin doesn't need an explanation. Idk if I'm missing any but really all I would take is Remy over Stan right now - which wouldn't solve our primary roster issue, the post.

Remy liked to party.

Edit: And playing time issues too I believe.

This IU team has several players who like to party as does most teams. Abell is now a key part of Xavier's sweet sixteen team. Xavier has had an easy route to the sweet 16. Not sure if Remy would have received the same amount of playing time this year at IU as he has at XU.

See: Edit

Also, I think Remy partied a little too hard a few times and papa Crean found out. Everyone parties. Not everyone is smart about it.

Other players didn't get rides back to dorms/meetings in police car after being found on fraternity lawns.

That's true. Instead of rides to dorm rooms they got rides to the police station. One was booked for DUI, others for illegal consumption, and one was questioned for another DUI. From my understanding Remy was never arrested nor failed any drug tests. He was Creaned in every sense of the word to make room for Crean's always oversigned recruiting class. To deny this is what happened one must also deny the word Creaned, which is funny since our fan base didn't invent the term. I am happy for Remy and his success. He never would have gotten the same recognition if he would have continued to play for our perrenial underperforming coach. His success leaving leaves the blue print for others to leave and have similar success. Just like what we all want for indiana.

Just watching Remy yesterday, I think we can safely say a senior Remy would have been a fairly big upgrade over Stan Robinson. Equal, if not better on defense, and a much better offensive player. He's not a guy you go to on offense, but he doesn't turn it over as much, is a better ball handler and can knock down the open 3.

Not saying it was right, not justifying any decisions.  Just providing a little detail.

if that is the case then he has 9 guards to recruit

It'll be a couple guards plus 6-7 wings that can jump but won't be able to do much else for at least a year, 3 of them will start every game though despite jumping high being their only redeemable skill.

Also important to remember that Remy wanted to transfer so Crean did all the paperwork side of things for it then a week or two later Remy came back saying he changed his mind and wanted to be back on the team, but all the documents and paperwork had already been filed with the NCAA. People can make Crean the villain and say he is "Creaning" player but individual players are also young kids who make knee jerk decisions as well.

Fair point. Still one way or another we seem to be hurting due to lack of senior leaders. This has been a pretty consistent problem during his tenure here.

Not just a problem here. Its a problem all over college basketball. I just don't see role players being that big of a senior leader.

We'll find out early this week hopefully!

Depends. If it's someone not in the tournament then yes. If they are still playing next weekend, then I doubt it. Unless Crean is legitimately got another job lined up and is ready to go. Or worst case, he is staying.
