Honestly something about that blocked punt in the 2nd half caught my eye, there might be legs to this.  It's almost like we KNEW Oregon was trying to punt on that play.

I'm listening to Klatt's podcast review and according to something he saw, IU is the first 'first time' national champ since freaking 1996 (Florida).

They mentioned it on the ESPN postgame show a couple of times which is pretty remarkable.  The transfer portal and NIL has really opened it up to a lot more schools which is a good thing.

How could you not? Just the sudden relief of so much tension would get a lot of people halfway there. Then everything on top of that! I'm so proud of and happy for Cig and everything he has done to prove himself over the last few decades; Fisch who has always believed in the team and never had the option of turning a bad game off; the Tom Allen recruits, JMU recruits, and other misfits whom no one believed in; Tom Allen and Kevin Wilson who played a critical role in keeping Indiana's head above water just enough to stay alive; Mendoza and his coaches, including those at Cal, who helped mold him and supported him all the way, even after he transferred; the fans who have watched IU piss it away for decades and new fans who came out for the team without that long-time bond; and of course Coach Hep who made us believe we could play 13 (then 14, 15, and 16). It almost makes me cry even now in my office at work!

Great clip.

To me “the spin”  was an equally great, or perhaps greater, move than “the dive”.  It was amazing how he spun out after getting crunched. Total determination!!

I am not gonna sit here and act like I have been following IU football forever (because I haven't), the only attachment I ever had to the program was Damarlo Belcher, him and I graduated high school together, and I would root him on if I came across a game. As you all know he passed away in 2022.

 

Since then Ive tuned in off an on, but really started to watch as many have when Cig started making waves. I am not a college football fan at all, but this has made one out of me. I am so proud of this team, and its so neat to see all the waves our university has made. Today on the way into work Mike's Carwash had on their electronic billboard "Hail the Hoosiers" and it never turned over once to another ad.....they left it on all day long. That is so cool to see! I stopped into walmart and grabbed a sweatshirt, and made sure to wear it in. I work in Ohio, and everyone here is a OSU fan...and they could not be happier that we won it all, they were all very classy! any ways thats my ramble....this one is for you Damarlo.
