Dave from Dayton Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 19 hours ago, mamasa said: The game thread on Rupp Rafters is about 80% predicting IU winning.... On Rupp Rafters they generally are saying that they envy IU's discipline, coaching, 3-point shooting and heart. Seems to me that their fans are 50 - 50 on predictions for the game. Think about that. They state that UK has more athleticism and talent. But there is some dissention on the team. The jury is still out on their HC Pope. Many are not happy about restarting the games between the two universities. That means that they are very, very worried. Both teams are beatable. If UK stops our perimeter passing at the top of the key, then get some calls...they will have a huge advantage. They really, really need this win. The have already lost to UL and UNC. A trifecta, they cannot handle. If IU can defend without fouling and gets assists and avoid streaks going south, then IU wins. A game on the road against even a halfway decent team worries me. (Spoiler alert: UK is not even halfway decent by definition.) Watch IU beat UK at Rupp...UK will implode and get pitchforks out. It is going to be glorious! tkbbn, mamasa, Napleshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
FortWayneHoosier Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Again this will be the toughest game, harshest environment we have faced. I think the boys in crimson show up....but we have to stay out of foul trouble, hit our 3s, and get some good cuts to the basket. I feel Lamar will show up, but I think Tucker/Alexis/Bailey need to have great games to seal the deal here. Hoosier Roots, hoosierfan6157, southsidehoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
FortWayneHoosier Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 a great break down of Kentucky's players and stats. Highly suggest reading. Thanks to insidethehall.com https://www.insidethehall.com/2025/12/12/what-to-expect-iu-basketball-travels-to-kentucky/ Quote
Pagoda Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Once this four game series with UK is done (Rupp, Lucas Oil, Rupp, AH), I would love this to be at Lucas Oil ever year with the 50/50 red/blue split at midcourt. This should be one of the best non-con games every year and the Red River Rivalry of CBB. IIRC the Yum Center isn’t able to host this game like Freedom Hall used to, so if that’s true I’d just do Lucas Oil every year. If Yum Center can we could alternate down there again like the old days. Do it Scott. Edit: I had three games series but it’s four games series, thanks @TheWatShot. Quote

I didn't like it that we agreed to give them two home games, but we have to remember Calipari was still coaching there when they agreed to this and he wanted to avoid AH at all costs. UK and Louisville need to be on our schedule every year, possibly Notre Dame as well. Anything to limit our athletic department's access to the Kenpom sub-300 squads. I heard a few years ago from a UK fan that the Yum Center will not let UK use it because of UL will not allow it. Whether or not that is the case, I don't know, but it would make sense seeing that is where UL plays. Pagoda and Napleshoosier 2 Quote
kottke Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 I just managed to snag tickets through one of my wife's cousins (no she's not married to him, surprisingly). They are all UK fans. Pray for me going in there. I last went there when we played when Sampson was coach. I think it was his first season. Home Jersey 1 Quote
